Mexico City, Mexico, Mar. 1 (UPI) -- With the peak season for illegal border crossings looming in the next few months, both Mexico and the United States are gearing up for thousands of inevitable confrontations between Mexicans who will attempt the treacherous journey through the Arizona desert and the American border patrol and immigration authorities on the other side.

His name says it all... "Cultural Jihad". Sounds like someone who hopes to aid our enemies in a Jihad to destroy us by undermining our culture. A terrorist wannabe who has not the guts to strap a bomb on his own a** and do us all a favor.

"The nerve, of the Mexican goverment to call the Minuteman Project illegal. What about the undocumented aliens? aren't they illegal?""

Have you been living under a rock? We politically correct don't use the "i" word anymore. You uppity conservatives don't care if you hurt anyone's feelings!

"this year a large and highly organized effort has appeared called the Minuteman Project,"

"Large" . . . . . AND 'highly organized." I like the sound of it. It has a nice LEGAL air about it...

"along the border and assist border law enforcement officials for the entire month of April in catching illegal border crossers,"

"So far, Gilchrist said he had received more than 800 applications from U.S. citizens who wanted to volunteer with the project."

WOW! Eight Hundred! Imagine that! Eight Hundred American Citizens willing to pull money out of their back pocket, sacrifice an entire year's worth of vacation, drive for days from all over the united States and camp out for weeks, just to shine a flashlight on a criminal illegal alien border buster!

Sounds to me like a LOT of Americans are FED UP with lies and BS from the government that is spending billions on "Homeland Security" and "Border Control" that is kicking back with the attitude that catching only 30% of the criminal illegal alien border busters is "acceptable."

In response to the prospect of legal action taken against the Minuteman Project, Gilchrist said, "Mexico should mind its own business, but instead it's trying to encourage violence."

Gosh, Jim is so very soft spoken and forgiving... I would rather have enough troops on the border in combination with civilian contractors so that an armadillo could not get through and just tell mexico to take a flying jump up . . . .

And for the volunteers, why, I don't see a vigilante yahoo anywhere! I do seem to remember another bunch of American Volunteers...

I called him/her on the screen name. Supposedly it came from the Dune trilogy. I still say it implies a 'racial holy war'.

"A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
— Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

I think President Roosevelt understood this. To bad the present administration doesn't.

"My screenname was derived from the 1965 ecological and cultural sci-fi novel "Dune" by Frank Herbert."

Ahh I see. I found his post where he makes that claim. However the term comes from 'Dune:The Butlerian Jihad.'.

I found a reference to it at this site...

DUNE: THE Butlerian Jihad

I especially found this part interesting...

"And the title begs to be questioned. It's unfortunate that these skilled wordsmiths didn't choose a more appropriate keyword than a militaristic distortion of "jihad," which mainstream Islam reserves for discussing the discipline of pilgrimage and/or personal spiritual discernment. Ironically, a thinly disguised oppressed religious group modeled on Muslim culture is thoughtfully and respectfully portrayed."

Interesting that he chooses a name based upon a "thinly disguised oppressed religious group modeled on Muslim culture", kinda gives one an idea of how he views Muslim culture, huh?

His whole goal appears to be a desire to have all Immigration threads moved to the Smoky Backroom. The thing is, he is not alone. They are developing an anti-illegal immigration ping list designed to incite flame wars and have threads pulled or moved from News/Activism. That is why, in an earlier post, I told him to go home.

As for the screen name, anyone who likens themselves to a jihad is not welcome at my house.

I think this latest verbage and legal stunt (re the Minutemen) from the Mexican syndicate known as Fox and friends is about as bad a PR move as you can get. It gets them nothing...and just pisses Americans off.

No wonder these clowns cant run their own country. They are clueless dumbasses.

Sounds like a likely assessment to me, and explains something I did not know about this site. I wondered how a post I made ended up in the Smokey Backroom, but that is precisely what happened.

Admittedly I am pretty new on FR. Always been very active on other boards, only just recently ran across this one.

To: 82Marine89; Cultural Jihad

Cultural Jihad has shown a definite ability in the past to make Freepers disappear, either into the Smokey Backroom or outer cyberia. But so what, all he's really achieved is to cause a large percentage of Freepers to actively dislike him.

I think President Roosevelt understood this.

T.R., in retrospect, understood many things. I am most impressed with his grasp and ability to utilize the universal language of Common Sense.
