Mosque illegally built on Bosnian Serb property to be demolished

SARAJEVO - A mosque illegally constructed on Serb property during the 1992-95 war is to be torn down after the owner refused a compensation offer, an official of the Bosnian Islamic community said Thursday.

"The mosque in the southern village of Bradina is going to be torn down in the next two months," Muharem Omerdic told AFP.

Omerdic said that the Islamic community had offered the Serb owner compensation since only 30 percent of the mosque is built on his land.

After he refused, the community decided two years ago to tear down the mosque, Omerdic said.

The mosque was built during 1993 and 1994 by the Bosnian Muslim army whose barracks had been located in the village, that had before the war a Serb majority.

"Now that the barracks are removed, there is no one to go to the mosque," Omerdic said.

Three ethnic groups in Bosnia -- Croats who are Roman Catholics, Muslims and Serbs who are Orthodox Christians -- fought a war using a religious symbol in their armies.

The war in Bosnia ended in 1995 leaving the country divided between the two entities -- Serbs' republika Srpska and the Croat-Muslim federation.

The Ferhadija mosque in Banja Luka so dear to multi culti crowd was also illegally built on the site of previously razed Christian church. When it was erased, multi culti crowd screamed to the high heaven.

Islamists have affinity to erect their shrines on other peoples sacred ground.

Or to steal the sacred objects and conver them into their own shrines:

THE VILLAGE OF BRADINA

Bradina is a village in the municipality of Konjic. It is also the birthplace of Dr. Ante Pavelic, leader of the Nazi Independent State of Croatia, which included Bosnia-Hercegovina in Hitler's Europe. Continuing attacks by the Moslem-Croat coalition in May 1992 forced 500-600 Serb refugees from Konjic, Mostar, Bijelo Polje, Jasenjan, Ostrozac, Dobrigosca, Pozetve, Nevizraka and Sarajevo to flee to Bradina. During the first half of May approximately another 1000 people, men, women and children, entire families fled to Bradina from Ljuta, Zlatar, Brdjani and from the burned villges of Blace and Dzepi. On May 12 Bradina wihtstood an attack, but another took place on May 25, with fatal consequenes for the entire population. Upon attacking the village, the Muslim/Croat forces burnt all Serbian homes forcing the population that survived the fire to leave. Literally whole families were annihilated, including children and old men. Captured younger men were shot on May 26, their corpses left exposed for two days. The Muslim/Croat coalition forced Serb prisoners to load the bodies onto vehicles and move them to the grounds of the Serbian Orthodox church in Bradina where they were buried in a mass grave which was so shallow that parts of their bodies protruded from it.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a B-52 at your disposal 24/7?

Generally, we did conventional ops in cells of 3 B-52s.

So what you want is more like 3-4 at your disposal (evil grin)

The thing that bothers me is that the Bosnians are building mosques left and right but they're so poor over there. They should be using that money to build infrustructure. I read somewhere they built something like 200 mosques since the end of the war.

The bulk of the mosques is built with Saudi money, in Wahhabi tradition alien to Bosnia.

If Serbs forced Bosnian Muslims to build Wahhabi-type mosques, the entire "international community" would scream of devastation of religious character. When Saudis do it, it is fine.

The biggest problem is that with Wahhabi mosques comes Wahhabi extremism.

Like Depelted Uranium, it is to stay and brew troubles for generations to come.

I couldn't afford to arm that many without your support.

Can we handle an entire squadron just selling Lotto tickets?

Good for the Serbs. I'm glad to see some more even-handed treatment for Bosnia's Serbs.

The Serbs are already well acquainted with the B-52, the receiving end.

60% of the population is considered clinically depressed, many cringe at the mere sound of an airplane flying over head. Quite tragic really.

Perhaps they should buy a few of those evil .50 caliber rifles and shoot them down.

Just the facts, Ma'am.

Facts on .50 Caliber Sniper Rifles
http://www.vpc.org/50caliber.htm

.50 Caliber Sniper Rifles were designed to
attack parked or landing aircraft,
armored personnel carriers, rail tank cars,
bulk fuel storage, and concrete bunkers.
.50 Caliber sniper rifles are powerful
enough to puncture armored limousines and
can be used as tools for assassination.
.50 Caliber Sniper Rifles have effective ranges up to 2,000 yards,
or in other words, 20 football fields laid end to end.
Deer hunters generally shoot at ranges of 150 to 200 yards.
Osama bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda network bought 25 Barrett .50
Caliber sniper rifles in the late 1980s.
.50 Caliber ammunition is the largest round available
on the civilian market and highly destructive armor-piercing,
incendiary, and explosive rounds are easily available.

Bradina's Serbs were Communists, as they went over wholly to the Partisan side.

Just demolish the minarets and convert the structures into something useful, a youth facility or a clinic perhaps. If the Saudis are so kind as to provide funding for their construction, I would see no need to waste such a "gracious" contribution from the Saudi coffers.
