"Let me guess, you often find yourself in a room full of people rolling on the floor laughing at something someone said and you are wondering what is so funny."

suggesting I'm slow? suggesting I'm being redundant?

thin skin, maybe, but more likely picking up on some provocation from you.

Anyway, I'm quite prickly myself today. So beware.

So Stewart and Soderberg both should be thankful they are living in a free country, because if they lived in Iraq, they'd both meet the fate of Daniel Perleman. It's kind of strange how confident folks can be when they are not threatened.

Absolutely. Though infidels include Christians and Jews, let's face it, Jews are targeted for immediate disposal by the islamists. Poor Danny Pearle--I read the book by his wife; one of the suspects later caught said they didn't plan to kill him until they found an israeli phone number in his address book. Could be a lie, but who knows?

But I would not put Steward and Soderberg in the same category; he seems to have a little more integrity than she does. He's a bright guy and and if he was intellectually honest, he'd do a Dennis Miller/Ron Silver and come into the light. Soderberg is a hopeless fifth columnist.

I'm a no-name, but I was a leftist secular jew for years, even had a hissy fit when Gore lost in 2000. If a dyed in the wool lib pink blanket baby like me can see the light of conservative ideals, anyone can. And I will NEVER go back to the dark days of leftism.

So, it could happen for Stewart. If he can muster the humility to admit it.

Jon Stewart cuts both ways...and most of his targets deserve the cut. Lets face it...about half of the senators in DC (Rep's and Dem's)...need to be fired. When Stewart puts Ms. Condi's picture up and talks up her "gritty" smile and her pure dislike of public lifestyle...he isn't joking...she absolutely can't stand the public limelight. When Stewart talks about the incompetence of the UN management staff...we knows its absolutely true and they are absolute dimwits. When he pours salt on French wounds...and just barely mentions the bodies still buried at Omaha Beach...he's simply poking at the lack of French memory. When Stewart talks down about Putty-Put (our Russian buddy)...we know that the lack of respect for the Russian leader is actually earned. When we see Stewart do a casual dope-slap for those who jailed Martha Stewart...we know of 100,000 other Wall Street types who ought to be in jail too...but the Feds just never seemed to find time go after them.

Jon Stewart spares no sacred soul. Most all who get a poke from him...deserve it in some fashion. We used to have another favorite American son in the 1930s who slowly earned his wages...by nightly spinning humor around politicans in general. This poor son from Oklahoma...brought fresh air to radio waves, and quietly brought reality into every home at night. And on a chilly day in 1935...we lost Will Rodgers...a great compass of American society. And perhaps for a moment...we ought to put put a great quote up against Jon Stewart...If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging. Jon Stewart stopped digging a while back...and maybe thats a good thing.

It was a cumulination of things, I can talk to you in a private message so I don't bore everyone else on the thread, if you don't mind the intrusion.

My conservative fate was sealed on September 12th 2001, just as an overview.

Thanks for your interest and support. I love FR and most of the FReepers I've met have been so accepting and welcoming. Some have said I don't belong here because of my liberal past, but very few.

God bless
