"You just end up going nowhere ..."

Perhaps it's time to re-think your arguments ?

Naaa..but it could be a waste of time debating people who are more interested in insulting those who have a different point of view than in an exchange of ideas, or even a spirited disagreement.

Tell me about it, I'm thinking of starting a collection of insults on my user page - that's why I can laugh them off, life is too short to sweat the small stuff or the small people, my friend.

But we do reach agreement on one thing, a few posts back - makes it all worthwhile ...

Some parts of Brooklyn, parts of Patterson, NJ, some parts of Michigan, people reported seeing dancing and cheering on 9/11.

"Now who's being foolish - I suppose you think that "assimilation" means going to Christian churches, and allowing their kids to wear their pants hanging off their butts ? "
____________________________________________________

I know what assimilation means. Where did you ever get the idea I thought it meant allowing kids to wear pants hanging off their butts or going to church?

I lived in a condo community that housed several muslim families for two years. There was one family from Jordan that was very friendly (except for the wife, she never left the house and never said hello); the kids were great. The other muslim families would not speak to anyone non-muslim, would not respond when you said hello, and would not allow their children to play in the community playground or swin in the condo pool.

I would say my level of assimilation would be to say hello to your neighbors when they say hello to you. That would have been nice.

But that isn't what you really wanted to know or what you wanted to hear.

My beliefs about islam are very similar to Jan in Colorado's just to save time and typing.

My own, just to clarify that these may not be hers, include the belief that islam is a dangerous cult. I feel deeply about the crimes against women that are permitted under islamic law. The honor crimes, the stonings, the repression are all an anathema to me.

There is no point really in debating my feelings about islamic law--judging from your past posts you appear to delight in insulting other people's beliefs.

I hope I am wrong, but that's the impression you give.

"They was dead when we got there; we just took their stuff!"

That sounds plausible. Where did you get this quote? Did I miss something?

I made the quote up, based on the video of one perp's crying statement "I didn't kill nobody..."

Killers don't close or lock door, slimeballs take their stuff; seems plausible to me, too. Much more plausible than these small time hoods doing the Islamic slaughter number on the family.

"As a migraine sufferer, my doctor prescribed a percocet."

I hate percocet!

I took everything in the medical pantry, and percocet was the worst. Demerol was the best.
I've got a library full of books on headaches, none of which ever did me any good. I finally went ahead and had my stroke which cost me half the vision in my left eye. It was well worth it.
I haven't had a migraine in four years.

I know your pain. I'm sorry.

Wow, TC, I am sorry about your stroke--though it sounds like it cured your migraines how strange!

Percocet is not only nauseating, it doesn't work very well for migraines. I usually end up at the ER, get a shot in the derrierre of demerol, anti-nausea and/or toradol. Sometimes morphine, depending on the severity of the darn thing.

Thanks for your empathy--and to everyone else on the thread, sorry to go off topic!

Hi Ari,

Actually, the thread has been off topic for quite some time now.

The good news is, these past few posts have been quite informative and educational.

I never heard of a stroke curing migraines!

It's amazing what you can learn on FR. ;o)

>> BTW - Jesus said all you have to do is believe in him to be saved, so I'm gonna be really pissed if he dosen't come through. <<

You are an extremely offensive individual and I would NOT want to be you come Judgment Day.

If you're really interested, I can guide you to some scripture that tell you what you need to do to be saved.

Yes, you have to believe that Jesus died on the Cross for your sins. That means that God loves you so much that He let His only Son be scarified IN YOUR PLACE. I don't think you can even comprehend what's involved here.

You must also repent from your sins. That means turning away from earthly things. That means asking the Holy Spirit to enter into your heart. It is the Holy Spirit that changes us, we cannot change ourselves.

I'll have to do some research and get back to you, but only if you are seriously interested.

Just when I thought you could get no lower....

Jesus is the only human to never have sinned. One day you will stand before the Father and account for your words.

"I never heard of a stroke curing migraines!"

Okay, let me finish up this "off topic" ramble before someone gets the wrong idea.

The doctors all said it didn't have anything to do with it.
It was brought on by three days of complete exhaustion which would normally have brought on a ferocious migraine, but this time the blood clot hit the optic nerve and killed the vision in the bottom of the left eye.
No biggie. The eye still looks the same, and the right took over the peripheral vision for the left. I don't even notice it anymore.
At any rate, it's too coincidental that the migraines stopped at the same time.

"It's like arguing with a child at times..."

Yep. Mother takes the kid with her to go shopping, she's got a list, written on it, amongst other things, are migrants, religion, crime, truth, evidence, tolerance and smidgin of love; she puts them in the trolley one at a time while the child runs along behind her yelling 'I WANT BIGOTS! I WANT BIGOTS! I WANT BIGOTS!

I AM correct most of the time,

And that is why it is useless to try and have a conversation with you, if you believe you are right "most of the time" you see no need to listen to other points of view.

That being the case. YOUR mind is "closed" and you are therby useless to conversation or sharing of ideas.

The sad part is, you sre somewhat intelligent, but like to play games and annoy people youdeem "unworthy", for want of a better term, and that's too bad, you might have actually been interesting to talk with, in person, over a few beers, or coffees.

Somehow I'm not getting you... I should be listening to people who think they are WRONG most of the time ?

I have no problem listening to people that might say something I don't know, and in most cases I have no reason to respond. But when I do some simple web research and respond with links correcting them or challenging their false statements, I am wrong ?
