Hacker invades airport Web site

"Instead of a list of arrival and departure times, they were greeted by a waving Turkish flag, with a steely-eyed man's face in the lower right corner. Beneath it was a message crediting a Turkish hacker who goes by the handle "iSKORPiTX" for the cybervandalism."

(I wonder if hackers could ever get into control tower computers? ....Shudder...)

Thanks to both of you for the excellent info and links yesterday.

JP, I noticed one of the articles you posted a link to said the 1957 flu virus had been sent to Lebannon and Saudi Arabia (among other countries). And it's been, oh, six months now????? Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Please ping me to anything else you might come across.

Here's a choice one:

White House: OK if Hamas controls PLC- "business professionals...not terrorists"

Sorry to post and run. Be back tonight.

"Hacker invades airport Web site
ISKORPITX: Relatively harmless attack underscored security concerns."
By RICHARD RICHTMYER

Anchorage Daily News

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The hacker behind Sunday's attack is fairly well known in Internet circles and doesn't try to hide his or her tracks.

Earlier this winter, an image and message similar to the ones that appeared on the airport's site showed up on the Information Security Association's Web site in the United Kingdom. The group is a nonprofit international organization of information security professionals.

A hacker Web site that chronicles such exploits gives iSKORPiTX credit for defacing hundreds of other Web sites, including state government sites in Iowa, Georgia and Tennessee.

Daily News reporter Richard Richtmyer can be reached at rrichtmyer@adn.com or 257-4344."
