I have a favor to ask everybody, but I want to avoid starting a vanity thread:
I have a very liberal, Bush-hating friend of mine, who refuses to give President Bush credit for anything. So when I pointed out to him that it was Bush who pursued democracy in the Middle East, despite all his detractors who claimed that the Middle East wasn't ready for democracy, that he was pursuing a pipe dream, my delusional friend replied that the democrats always supported democracy in the Middle East as well.
Of course, he's in denial, but how do I find quotes from prominent democrats criticizing the Bush Administration's policy of promoting democracy in the Mideast?
Thanks.

Your friend will never change. He's a Socialist, and beyond redemption. Find conservative friends, and kick him to the curb.
Because, given time, he will find Socialist friends, and he will do the same to you.
That said, if you want hard evidence of the Left opposing democracy and supporting dictatorships, just pick up any copy of the New York Times from the past four years.
It's the "Bush's Administration" part that trips you up. They support democracy in the Middle East. The devil's in the details of how you get there. That's where the difference is. Their way wouldn't have worked.
