Legislation seeks to put in place a system to save the life of the disabled Florida woman.
The U.S. House of Representatives is set to consider legislation this week that would save Terri Schiavo's life by granting the disabled Florida woman the same right to due process as criminals......

(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
If Santorum knows what's good for him, he'll be all over this. He badly needs to reingratiate himself with Pennsylvania pro-lifers after supporting Specter. Unless he does something drastic to win back the pro-lifers or Casey does something stupid, Santorum will have to win PA without his pro-life foot soldiers who've worked so hard for him in the past.
It sure does.
I'm also hoping the DCF investigation will Stop the madness for Terri and her family. If it doesn't, there IS something very, very WRONG. (as if we didn't already know that)
Terri Ping!!
Goodness knows I share your skepticism of the Senate... but I'm still praying for Terri. It's about time regardless.
I've stayed out of this discussion because my age
dictates I take a different view than most people
at the Schiavo site. The one question I could
never get answered was WHAT DO THE DOCTORS SAY?
I've never received a reply on that. So, today
I went looking and got both sides of the story,
the husband's interests aside.
If Congress is going to take up the problem,
they are going to call in doctors to testify.
The content of this article will be certainly
present some problematic discussion.

BTW, I've prayed for Terri and her parents as well
as for the husband's "illegitimate children" by his
lady friend. It's a very emotional issue for them,
too.
He has a lot explaining to do, starting with this document that he wanted stricken from public record.
DR. WALKER'S BONE SCAN DEPOSITION-----11/21/2003
Now, Dr. Walker....
Q The report goes on to say, "The
10 presumption is that the other multiple areas of
11 abnormal activity also relate to previous trauma."
12 A That's what it says.
13 Q And, again, that's based on the fact that
14 Dr. Carnahan is a rehab physician, that you were
15 asked to evaluate for trauma?
16 A And the pattern of activity is fairly
17 typical of multiple traumatic injuries of relatively
18 recent origin.
19 Q I realize you can't assign a cause to
20 these injuries that you picked up in this report.
21 But typically in your experience, what would be the
22 causes of this pattern of abnormality?
23 A In somebody her age, an auto accident is
24 by far the most typical cause.
25 Q Assume that she was not in an auto
P- 29
1 accident but that she had suffered an anoxic or
2 hypoxic encephalopathy type of injury from a cardiac
3 arrest and had been bedridden for a year at this
4 point. What might account for these abnormalities?
5 A In my knowledge, that type of injury.
6 would not account for this pattern of abnormalities.
The article you linked to was very one-sided. She would have made a stronger effort if she had attempted to contact one of the numerous doctors who dispute the claims made by the doctor she consulted. I got the impression that the doctor that the author did consult with did nothing more than read the opinions of the Schiavo/Greer doctors.
Dr. Alan Keys is now on Michael Medved's show right now defending Terri !!!
"We, and others I know, have treated many patients worse than Terri and have seen them regain independence and dignity," Hammesfahr said.
"There are many approaches that would help Terri Schiavo," Dr. Hammesfahr explained. "I know, because I had the opportunity to personally examine her, her medical records, and her X-rays."
"It is time to help Terri, instead of just warehousing her," he added. "She would have benefited from treatment years ago, but it is not too late to start now."
"The patient is not in a coma," concluded Hammesfahr said after observing Terri. "She responds to specific people best. She tries to please others by doing activities for which she gets verbal praise."
He says Terri's eyes clearly fixate on her family and she tries to follow the simple commands her parents give her. "She looks at you, she can follow commands," Hammesfahr said.

Greer doesn't listen to anything anyone who wants Terri to live.
There are 17 new affidavits filed by Dr.s who specialize treating persons with brain damage.
I'd post them if I could but they are pdf files.

Terri ping! If anyone would like to be added to or removed from my Terri ping list, please let me know by FReepmail!
I sent letters to Senators Clinton and Schumer (yeah, them be the senators from New York), and my representative....I'm still praying that God will move their hearts in the right direction.
Dr. Keys was on the Gordon Liddy show earlier today discussing the same topic. I'm grateful he is on board with this and getting word out. He was saying that the executive, ie Gov Bush not only has the legal authority to disallow this action, he has a constitutional responsibility to do it. His reasoning was very compelling.
I will be calling Oxley again tomorrow.
I hate pdf files. There should be a law...
I am glad you did. With this being brought up in congress now, it is now a national issue. Before, we were so much as toilet paper if we didn't reside in Floriduh.
