CHICAGO -- A self-described "white racialist" Internet author is soliciting the addresses of three judges who ruled against white supremacist Matthew Hale, one week after the family of a federal judge was murdered.
One week ago, federal judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow's husband and mother were found murdered in her home. Lefkow is now under federal protection. There have been more than 600 tips to a special police hot line on the Lefkow case, while there have been more than 30 calls to "America's Most Wanted" television show, which featured the case this weekend.
On his Web site, Hal Turner makes references to all three 7th Circuit judges who ruled against Hale in a trademark solicitation case, NBC5's Phil Rogers reported. He then asks readers to provide their home addresses. Turner said he wanted the judges' addresses to apply pressure to them through protests, mail or other external means for their rulings.
"I can understand why people might think that's something to be concerned about," Turner said. "But certainly, I have no malicious intent -- I do not intend to hurt the judges or incite any harm to the judges, but have you to have faith in the American people."
The FBI is investigating Turner, Rogers reported, and paid a visit to him last week.
Turner's Web site is loaded with references to other judges who have been the subject of violence. Turner's Web site has posted a photo of Lefkow with the caption "Gotcha." Turner said he has the judges' addresses, but doesn't know if he will post him on the Web site.
Turner added that Hale's followers should not misconstrue his call for information as a call to arms.
"People are responsible for what they do," Turner said. "I am responsible for what I am doing. If someone goes out and commits a criminal act they will be held responsible."
The U.S. Marshal's Service, which is charged with protecting the judiciary, is investigating Turner's Web site to see if there is any threat to the judges mentioned. The U.S. Marshal's service will not say if they have given the judges extra protection.
"A level of discomfort? Absolutely," said Shannon Metzker of the U.S. Marshal's Service. "Is this a viable threat and do we need to establish a protection detail on this? Our oldest mission is protecting the judiciary. We never lost anyone under protection and we take it seriously."
Neighbor: 'We're Not Going To Put Up With This Anymore'
Neighbors of Lefkow have organized a candlelight vigil Monday night on the steps of the family home, NBC5's Anna Davlantes reported.
A local minister, who will speak at the vigil, said she hopes the event will give the community a chance to vent some of the anger they are feeling at the tragedy and also to show support for the family.
"Our community has been violated, our friendship circle has been violated, and also that the sense that our nation and what it stands for has been violated by this," said Rev. Carol McVetty, of the North Shore Baptist Church. "So it's very natural to feel anger in the face of that -- the question is, what do we do with that anger? And I think that is what this rally is about."
There are also approximately 5,000 signs that are going up outside of businesses and homes in the neighborhood that say, "A nation of laws, a community of friends will prevail." Nan Sullivan, a neighbor, said the vigil would show that the deaths of Lefkow's husband and mother are of the utmost importance to the family's neighbors and friends.
"To just kind of show that it is a community of friends and a nation of laws -- we're not going to put up with this anymore," Sullivan said. "To have our system of justice threatened the way it has been, with somebody who could in one short second destroy the lives of our neighbors, we're very angry about that."
Sounds like 'Accessory to First Degree Murder', 'Solicitation to commit murder', 'Assualt with intent to do bodily harm' and 'harassment' to me.
These folks aren't real bright.

What they need is a shotgun vigil.
It is past time to declare these creeps domestic terrorists and dissapear them to Guantanamo for intense questioning.

Saying someone 'deserves death' and posting their address has to be illegal. If it's not it should be. I think just about everyone here would have no trouble calling someone a kook who did that to anyone else much less a public servant. Regardless of the politics involved.

I am sure that Mr. Turner's home address will soon be very well known on the internet. He will certainly know that intimidation will be no factor in that, at all. I'm sure. Yeah, I'm sure. That's what he said anyway.....
