CONCORD, N.H. - Morgan Quitno Press has named New Hampshire the ``Most Livable State'' for the second consecutive year.
Like last year, the Granite State passed Minnesota to take the top spot.
Vermont held at third, while Massachusetts ranked seventh, Connecticut 14th, Maine 15th and Rhode Island 23rd.
The 2005 award is based on 44 factors. They include median household income, the crime rate and job growth.

Texas is 45?
Vermont is third?? I don't think I could live in that socialist state, even though they have a Republican governor. I'd go nuts with all those lunatics...God bless any conservative who lives in the Northeast.
Without meaningful descriptions of what data are used to derive the rankings, this is pure fluff.
What? Was this a survey taken by a thousand New Hampsters?
My, my...it seems odd that all the most liveable are blue states...and have very few minorities.
Warning : Believe this list at your own peril.
Well, Pardnuh, we still got all them guns, and wild injuns, and outlaws and sech, roamin' round and rustlin' cattle and upsettin' the lives of God fearin' women.
Hey look! Mississippi is last! And I think it's the best place in the country. Who in their right mind would want to live in the Northeast? Or in Minnesota? The cold just does not beckon this Southern gal.
While I'm happy that Virginia is number 5, any poll that lists New Hamshire, Vermont AND Massachusetts in the top 10 is more than a bit suspect.
Hmmm... what do you think about this? :o)
Not all are blue states........Virginia is ranked #5
March Madness, don't you just love it.

California at #5...good weather outweighs all evil. ;)
Sounds pretty dumb.
I've seen this in prior years..........how in heaven's name Delaware makes it into the top 20 is absolutely beyond me. 10 years ago yes - now, no way.
The residents of "red" states in the top ten, like Virginia and Wyoming, better brace themselves for a further influx of metrosexuals and other riff-raff from coastal California and the urban Northeast.
