Clinton assails ``epidemic'' of media sex and violence Wednesday March 09, 2005 By DEVLIN BARRETT Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) Children are suffering from a ``silent epidemic'' of media sex and violence, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton argued Wednesday in calling for closer scrutiny by parents and government of what kids watch and play.

Speaking a day before her husband former president Bill Clinton was due to undergo a follow-up surgery for a heart bypass operation six months ago, the senator argued the public health was threatened by increasingly raw media content. Clinton, D-N.Y., focused her critique on the new media that some parents worry are a bad influence on children: violent video games, the Internet, and sexually explicit television programs.

``This is a silent epidemic. We don't necessarily see the results immediately,'' Clinton said at a forum hosted by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Over time, she argued, the effects of such media-driven desensitization teaches children ``that it's OK to dis people because they're women or they're a different color or they're from a different place.''

The senator took direct aim at one particular video game, Grand Theft Auto, a series popular among players and criticized by parents for its crime spree role-playing.

She's becoming more "evangelical" by the minute. She certainly is a populist.

She learned from her mentor, Saul Alinsky. Perception is reality.

"She's becoming more "evangelical" by the minute. She certainly is a populist. "

Before 2008 we'll see her being slain in the Spirit on one of
those televangel crusades.

I agree and I'm sure a lot of other parents will agree also. Hillary is positioning herself as a moderate and family-friendly, which just may work.

Hey Ms. Rodham-Stalin, we still remember your great friend Jocelyn Elders and why she was asked to resign.

...the political makeover continues.

Nobody but the MSM will take this stuff seriously as Hillary (circa 2007) piously points to these newsclippings as 'proof' of her political conversion. Of course she'll be doing all this with a nod & a wink to her campaign contributors. The 'Evil' Party marches on...

As if the decline in American culture didn't take place on her and BJ's watch.
Mrs Clinton's latest BS brought this FR blast from the past to mind:

One of the biggest "media epidemics" of sex was all the coverage of Bubba's White House escapades. Does she cite that ? Of course not.

This is just part of her presidential campaign chameleon act.

She's running, all right. Her stance on illegal immigration, supporting the troops, opening a dialogue between pro-life and pro-choice on abortion, now her concern over too much sex and violence affecting "the children".

If Hellary was so concerned about what children see, why did she have that 2nd floor Christmas tree decorated by sex toys and condoms, in the White House????

Keep talking Hellary....

Yeah - and it wasn't helped one little bit when her husband got the nation involved in whether oral sex is actually sex. And now there's nearly an epidemic of junior high school kids having sex in the school bathrooms.

Ain't that just like a social-liberal? Evade responsibility when you can do something about a problem; and demand that the government clean-up YOUR mess!

Hey Hillary, America would be in far better shape today if you'd just condemned the SOB & left is sorry a--!

Didn't Billy-Jeff adopt several republican initiatives and turn them into democrat legislation? Welfare and such. I think Hill is taking a page from the same book.

Not to mention the sexually explicit program during clintoon's 8 year administration.

The radical leftists are malignant naracissists who are experimenting on society and when their little social experiments fail, as they inevitably do, we are all expected to fix their mess.
