It needed to be done. Even one of my best buddies, whom is the furthest thing from a liberal, was on the verge of bankruptcy (he made no attempt to find work for 16 months). He told his wife when he was on the brink of declaring to max out the credit cards. Fortunately a job was forth coming and he avoided it, but it was that close. To say the least, I wasn't impressed.
