I still believe this "leak" was put out on purpose to put pressure on Iran to accept the EU/USA plan .. and to reassure Iran that Israel was not kidding.

What the actual plan says - who knows - but most countries with a sizable military - have contingency plans to fit most any situation. I know America does - and Sec.Rumsfeld has stated that he put the Pentagon to work re-writing them all when he came into office.

I haven't seen much uproar over the information that was leaked. Maybe because the world is hoping Israel will do what they are not willing to do - stop Iran from getting nukes.

The very same thing happened with Iraq. The world appeared to be shaking it's finger in Israel's face - but in actuality - the world was heaving a huge sigh of relief.

But .. the youth revolt doesn't seem related to Iran having the ability to make nuke weapons.

Taking out the enrichment facility and/or any of the component parts' facilities - would not be a major war and very few innocent people would be killed or injured. Remember, when Israel hit Iraq's facility - it was at a time when very few employees were there.

I keep thinking that if those nuke facilities get taken out - it will open the door for the youth revolution to begin.

What's with these people - time does not heal all situations. Sometimes time is your enemy. And .. in this case I believe it is. The very same way I believe the situation in Iraq could not just sit over there and boil.

Even if the UN had been allowed to continue it's search - and found no WMD in Iraq - what would that have solved ..?? NOTHING! Saddam would have still been murdering his people. And as soon as the inspectors left - the WMD would have been returned to Iraq.

Time was not a solution. And only cowards want more time - hoping somebody else will do the job they are too chicken to do.

I agree the article is meaningless. Sooner, rather than later, such a strike will become a necessity. I hate to think of the consequences of doing nothing. I certainly wouldn't survive such consequences considering where my home is and where I work.

You could be right oooor lol it could spur a wave of nationalism and unite them against us, it is a roll of the dice. I would hope U.S. intelligence would feel comfortable about it before opening Pandora's box. I assume they would and with no inside knowledge I can only guess. It's these scenario's where I really like hearing what our military FReeper's think will happen.

I don't think "a wave of nationalism" would "unite them against us".

They already know we are on their side. If the nuke facilities went up in smoke - I can't help but wonder if the Iranian dissidants would not seize the moment and take back their country.

I agree - I like it when the military people weigh in - they have insight to help us understand.

A lot of people will be eating crow when this is all over with, I think we will be amazed at what we will have witnessed. I think WMD's will be found or located and revealed to us at some point. If things continue they way they have, we may be witnessing one of the greatest presidents ever to hold office. Iran has its choices and they know we mean business, no more paper tigers. These people understand and respect power, real power, not the wishy washy threat of it which they have ignored in the past and used it to grow stronger. They wont say it, but they must be scared out of their minds wondering what GWB is thinking and planning to do. They might be evil, it doesn't mean their stupid.
