I'd rather have some of my guys coding for Treo in a Windows-compatible OS, than to be spread out over different competing systems.

So would a lot of other people, from what I've heard, but I respect Treo's decision, obviously they don't feel it's in their best interest. If you don't like their decisions, buy them out. Or code for other MS devices, there are several to choose from.

In contrast, you want to ignore those markets and let non-Microsoft competitors dominate them.

No I just think it's the earned perrogative of these companies to conduct their business in any way they so desire. They have their reasons for what they do, I simply analyze the resulting situation, and take proper action from there. You on the other hand, seem to prefer launching constant second guesses from the comfort of your armchair.

Rocket science is far easier, I would suspect.

Than programming? Hilarious. We have lots of people giving away sofware, I don't know of anyone giving away free rocket designs.

Rocket design is trivial compared to programming. I do both. And they give away rocket designs on the Internet.

I think that once these VB6 programmers make the switch to say, C# and the framework, they will see the light.
