I think understand what you are trying to say, not to give up hope on anything because things change. I argue the same thing myself, that Christianity has changed and so can Islam. I think that the problem is that the fundamentalist Muslims don't want change. Most of the Muslims I have met in America abandon their faith when no longer forced to participate. It is really a rather sad excuse for a religion when you read the Koran and study it's history. I am not sure where it can go in it's evolution except to some sort of watered down Islam lite. As to Malcolm X being a leader, he was a interesting person but was as bigoted and ignorant as the younger George Wallace but in reverse. I enjoyed a record I had many years ago of some speeches that he made. He really didn't lead people anywhere but he was a devil's advocate of the first waters.

You've read the Koran?

I read parts of it, but they were taken out of context. You can take anything out of context really, and it can sound bad. The Koran though, is it true that there really is no sequence to it? That it's just a mess?
