Nearly two million people from different regions of Lebanon have gathered in the capital Beirut for protests organized by the opposition party. Members of the press located in the protest region have reported that the protestors are arriving in Beirut by car, ship, and even on foot in preparation for the largest meeting since the assassination of the former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri on February 14.
A traffic jam was reported between the north and the Damascus highways where cars were bumper to bumper, and rally goers arriving in Beirut were demanding an explanation for Hariri's murder and for the withdrawal of the Syrian troops.

Watch the MSM ignore this in favor of coverage of the Jackson trial, Israeli aggression, and US suppression of Iraqis. . .

Two million people is ONE HALF of the population of Lebanon.

No, I bet the red herring today will be endless coverage of nothing happening in the Courthouse Killer affair.

were demanding an explanation for Hariri's murder and for the withdrawal of the Syrian troops. Bad writing, bad writing.
Nobody's demanding an explanation for the withdrawal.

I just rechecked the Fox News website. Still not a word about this. More crime news than you shake a stick at, including Jacko all over the place. Fox needs to be seriously chided about this from citizens.

Funny how we don't hear "Not in our name!" much in association with this story.

It is encouraging, that by accounts so far, the demonstrations have been peaceful.
Let freedom ring!

Brent Sadler at CNN International reported today that entire villages had been left empty, as people poured into central Beirut.
Cheers.

And so much for the "well, Hezbollah has more supporters in their demonstrations so nothing will ever happen there." What was the last Hez demonstration, 50 Hez and 500,000 rent-a-mob people?

I think the pink is the distance shot of the Lebanese flags.
