The Florida Legislature is now working on a bill that Governor Bush says he will sign into law that would prevent the removal of Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube. The bill should be on the floor for debate by mid- Friday.

Considering that I have rad that her tubes are to be pulled at 1pm Friday, isn't mid Friday a little late for getting it to the floor for debate?

To be clear, She is not hooked up to tubes 24/7.

She has a "port" to her stomach through which nutrition is delivered. She has her meals via tube. Then the tube is removed after the meal is served.

It depends. I'm not sure if the port is going to be removed, or just clamped off. And I don't know if this legislation would require the port to be reinserted if it's removed. If the port is merely clamped off, then feeding could resume without any trouble. If the port is removed, it would have to be surgically reimplanted before feeding could resume.
