Mexico pushes for continental integration

OTTAWA - Mexico wants its North American neighbours to move more quickly towards integration on a continental scale, the country's foreign secretary said on Friday.

Mexican Foreign Affairs Secretary Jorge Castaneda was in Ottawa on Friday, meeting for the first time with Minister of Foreign Affairs Bill Graham. "We would like to continentalize as much as possible," he said.

Castaneda said the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 brought to the fore the idea of harmonizing several policy areas across the continent.

What Mexico wants, he said, goes beyond the continental perimeter idea that has been discussed at length in Canada in the wake of Sept. 11. Castaneda said it includes a more continental approach to social issues, immigration and energy.

"We have been pushing for this. And we have been encountering a receptive ear both in Canada and the United States at a certain level of intensity," he said. "We would like to move more quickly. We would like to move more deeply."

Mexican President Vicente Fox has spoken in the past about those deeper moves, such as adopting a common currency, a customs union, and the entire elimination of border controls.

NAFTA is really 'working well' and one sided, for Fox's leftist, America-hating, Mexican regimé.

If I lived in a shack and my neighbor had a 10 million dollar house with 15 bedrooms, I'd want to "integrate" with him, too. ;)

Another example of how unwilling and stupid the Mexican government is in caring for their own people.
They can't do it so they want America and Canada do what their too damn stupid, corrupt and LAZY to do.

Gives some credence to the 10 world regions and global governance speculation doesn't it.
Analysis of Land Use Change: Theoretical and Modeling Approaches
Helen Briassoulis, Ph.D.

The presentation of the IFS model follows Liverman (1989) and the emphasis is placed on the particular way land use and its change are modeled. According to Liverman (1989), IFS is a version of the World Integrated Model which was sponsored by the Club of Rome and developed by Mesarovic and Pestel (1974 cited in Liverman 1989, 220). IFS simulates trends in regional and global conditions such as population, food production, energy use, trade, and GNP for a set of 10 world regions linked by trade and aid.

From "New Earth 21" Program...

The Integrated Assessment Model DNE21 which consits of Energy Systems Model, Macro-economic Model and Climate Change Model is introduced below.
This isn't quite right as Mexico, under Fox's plan, would have to go to N. America instead of Latin America.

Even our high school and college children are going to get used to the idea...Geography Courses
GEOG 380 Regional Geography Studies (3 credits) Students will focus on one of 10 world regions (A-US/Canada; B-Latin America; C-Middle East/North Africa; D-Sub-Saharan Africa; E-Europe; F-Russia/Central Asia; G-East Asia; H-South Asia; I-Southeast Asia; J-Australia/Pacific). All students enrolled will meet with the instructor as a group once a week for discussion of general characteristics of world regions. Most work will be guided/independent.

Pulsipher, Lydia Mihelic, Pulsipher, Alex, World Regional Geography (Global Patterns, Local Lives) 3/e, 2005, W.H. Freeman
A modern text that gives equal balance to all the processes—social, economic, political, and environmental—that shape the 10 world regions.

Simply amazing the things that are on the web. Sometimes scoffing shouldn't be done.

Taking for granted freedom, heritage, and liberty will finally take its toll on the American People as their Constitutional rights evaporate into nothingness along with the border they refused to protect.

Vietnamese-Americans Against Illegal Immigration

http://www.fairimmigration.com/id3.html

Vietnamese will be treated fairly and no longer be discriminated against by the U.S. Government if it does the following:

1. Enforce all immigration laws. At a minimum these enforcement measures should include:

A) Businesses should be required to check the validity of new employees Social Security or work permit numbers.

B) Local and state law enforcement officers should verify the citizenship and immigration status of everyone they apprehend. Every illegal alien they apprehend should be detained and transferred to the Homeland Security Departments ICE division for deportation.

2. Children born to illegal aliens and guest workers in the U.S. should not be given U.S. citizenship. The U.S. is totally out of step with the rest of the world in this regard.

3. Any long term guest worker program (1 year or more) should only include foreigners outside the United States, not illegal aliens inside the U.S. To protect the wages of Vietnamese-Americans, the guest worker recommendations of the Jordan Commission should be followed.

4. We support U.S. investment in high immigrant sending countries to create more opportunities there. For example, we support the proposal where the U.S. would match any new funds Mexico spend on infrastructure, education, and law-enforcement improvements if they also institute free-market and anti-corruption reforms. Since a dollar goes much further in these countries, many times more people could be helped this way instead of helping only a relatively few by letting them into the U.S.

5. The U.S. should not allow legalized illegal aliens nor anyone they sponsored to sponsor their relatives for family preference immigration. This would eliminate the increased waiting times past legalizations of illegal aliens has created...temporary category could be set up as was done...
