I know for certain that Dr. K ended the lives of several people (an definitely the majority of the people he did this with) had ALS -

ALS is simply a brutal disease (and these people all asked for Dr. K's help in ending their lives) - While I'll agree Dr. K went off the deep end that does not mean there isn't a need for a more humane and dignified way of ending life under certain circumstances.
