Gosh. I didn't know anything bad ever happened in France. I thought they were the most sophisticated people in the world, walked everywhere, and the women never get fat.

The current French philosophy is hedonism. Fits right in, if you ask me.

I need a bath after reading this. Please advise people to bring soap, washcloth and towel.

People sometimes confess to things they haven't done, in order to get a better deal from a prosecution they think is going to frame them anyway; and some can be psychologically coerced into confessing. So I don't take confessions as necessarily being true.

Videos would be a lot harder to explain away, but has anyone seen these videos or are they just promised by the prosecution? Do they implicate everyone, or just one person who may be claiming to be part of a conspiracy in hopes of getting a lighter sentence by exposing a 'ring' and making the prosecutor famous?

There are a lot of questions here, but the main one is: do people really act like this, in groups of 60+? It seems so unlikely on its face that I think we need to be pretty skeptical.

Hedonism is the creed of much of the secular West.

Who said a culture begins with stoicism and ends with epicurianism?
