One thing to consider with Hillary is that Bill is not in good shape physically. Her political skills go away with him out of the picture. I just don't think that she will be the candidate.

I think she's all the D's have and will therefore be their candidate. Bill will survive and manage her campaign for her.

Actually I think the widow Clinton would be a far more formidable candidate. She could keep the Clinton base, solifiy her place as the most prominent woman in American politics, and ditch at least some of the Clinton negatives in the process. Can't you just see her in a black dress, manfully holding back the tears and they wheel Slick down Pennsylvania Ave. in a horse drawn hearse? And thereafter whenever anyone tries to bring up any scandal from the past Hillary just looks pained and sad and says "Bill is dead now, can't those who hate him leave him be now?" with the whole news cycle being not about Clinton scandals about about how unfairly the GRWC is attacking a poor widder woman?

I wish Slick nothing but the best, at least until the polls close in November 2008.
