I think what bothers me so much is that on the one hand the court doesn't want to take hearsay evidence regarding how badly schiavo treated Terri, but the court will take schiavo's hearsay about Terri wanting to die. The court's hypocricy should be pointed out. Is hearsay acceptable or not?

What if this animal were to die today....would Terri's parents then have legal authority over Terri?

Her dad yesterday said there are police outside the door not in the room.

Her body needs to be examine, not cremated. The allegations of Medicare/ Medicaid fraud involving Greer also need to be looked at. I hope and pray heads roll.

...if any of you pro Michael Schavio (yes, Neal Boortz, that means you, especially) cannot see through this sham of Michael's....then there is no hope that you'll ever see the truth of this tragic situation....ever.

If Michael died then I would think responsibility would fall back to Terri's parents. This whole situation is bizarre to me.

Wow I thought I heard him say there was a guard in the room. Oh well thanks for the correction. She really should be examined for abuse.

You - and others with your opinion are completely missing the point! There seems to be overwhelming evidence that Michael Shiavo is LYING. He has another girlfriend now - it would be very AWKWARD if she were to ever come out of her state any tiny bit. He has a conflict of interest here and as we try to take every precaution to accused criminals before we sentence them to death - we owe Terri that same right. WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND?

Thanks for the links!

Here's another for the :

Florida State Legislature.

If I understand it correctly, there are only two holdouts who are preventing passage of a bill that would reinsert Terri Sciavo's feeding tube.

Would you be willing to bet your life on Michael Schiavo's honesty?

Bizarre and cruel. I'm so angry about this whole situation. There are still too many questions about Terri's condition that need answering. Did Terri's husband have something to do with Terri's collapse....how long after Michael Shiavo recieved the lawsuit money did he decide to have Terri murdered like this? The old injuries on Terri's x-ray's alone should warrant an investigation.

"Paging the Florida state legislature...."

Why? They have already been denailed by the courts. It's the courts who need to answer to this. One more (series) of cases where justice has turned a blind eye. Did even one of those judges ever enter Terri Schiavo's room, attended by anyone other than her husband? I'll bet not one ever entered her room, period, let alone without her husband. How does this guy get by with bullying everyone around and changing medical records without impunity, denying treatment, etc.? How come she was never appointed a court-ordered guardian that was impartial? Sure sounds a lot like a set-up to me.

We just hit a banana peel on the slippery slope downwards! Unless we urge Congress to take measures to prevent this happening again, this will become common practice...not just the removing of feeding tubes, but removing feeding tubes and preventing rehabilitative persons from getting care. And soon people will say that there's "nothing that can be done" to stop it.

The standard of proof required here is clear and convincing evidence, which in law is a high standard. There is nothing in writing whatsoever and only the husband's word that he remembers hearing while watching a movie with Terri. That does not amount to clear and convincing evidence in my book.

Additionally, the husband has a clear conflict of interest hear in that he is living with another woman and has kids with that woman. There is also evidence to the fact that he did not utilize the money from the malpractice award as he was supposed to, which all adds up to a degree of doubt.

Therefore, the question becomes - when in doubt - do you choose life or death?

anyone else who feels that its not out of the realm of comprehesion that Terri Schiavo MAY NOT have wanted to live like this

Operative word being MAY, your Dorkness. Unless and until that MAY becomes DID, it is our duty as civilized, compassionate human beings to err on the side of life.

When are you and your ilk going to understand that?

I think Michael is a scumbucket but I'm not calling for his death. There's no living will, and Michael is an estranged spouse who has since fathered two children by another woman.

I cannot imagine and yet it's happening. You can be sure that my children will now have something in writing when they get married. It makes me sick that her parents, the people who loved, cared and raised her all of her life, do not have any say. They are treated like criminals. Nothing they can do will protect her. They have to just watch their daughter suffering to her death.

I can't believe this. It's all based on the hearsay claims of a man who claims while watching a movie with his wife in their 20's. There's no proof what she wanted at all. He now has another common law wife and family. The court legalize Murder.

Two key points here. MAY NOT have wanted to live this way. The key word is MAY. We don't know for sure so why not err on the side of life while more tests are done and everything is reviewed. Secondly, if she is truly in a "persistent vegetative state" as they say and feels nothing, sees nothing, has no pain, doesn't know what's going on, is not aware of her condition or anything around her, then she DOESN'T KNOW she is "living that way". Again, why not just take a few more weeks for a thorough review? Eventually, with more therapy, more doctors consultations, etc. maybe the parents themselves would see that nothing can be done and decide it's time to let her go. I see no harm in giving the parents a little more time to come to possibly the same conclusion.
