Oh I think he has a right to sue. But if I'm on the jury deciding the reward.... I don't give him anything. That's just me personally. He got sprayed because he was arguing with a crazy lady holding pepper spray and demanding him to shut up. Isn't that the bottom line?

But apparently the mouthy 16 year old wasn't a tough marine.

No, he wasn't. The USMC does not knowingly take 16-year-olds.

It appears that the spraying in this case ended the argument. :)

I can tell you this much: this woman should not be allowed out of a straitjacket, let alone allowed to own pepper spray, a tire iron, or a car. She is a dangerous nutball with no impulse control. This guy had exactly zip to do with her little problem.

Police-grade pepper spray is about the same strength as CS. The stuff they sell civilians is cut way down--the annual USMC gas chamber exercise is considerably worse than that.

I can't vouch for the Corps CS drill. The Army CS drill sucked beyond words. (CS is CS, so I can't envision it being any worse in the Corps.) Pepper spray also sucked in a completely different way. The effects lasted longer but at least there was no choking involved. And not nearly so much runny snot, either.

Are you seriously suggesting that your rights go on hold in the presence of a crazy person threatening you?

It's his right to ask her to move. Is it his right to continue, to badger, to argue etc. I don't know? Do you think it is? I think she got tired of hearing him argue and sprayed him. That's the way I read it.

Would yopu call her a mouthy 40 year old (or however old) if she kept harassing a 16 year old to move his car? Would you back the 16 year old for pepper spraying her? Or do you believe that those older than you automatically deserve respect?

I was in a bar and saw something similar. Directly across from me a short man was giving a much larger man a hard time. I could hear the whole thing. The larger man ignored him until the short man sprayed him with pepper spray. Right out of the blue! There was no affect at all and the short man started to run. No use - the larger guy had him in a head lock and turned his face into mush before the bouncers showed up.

The USMC subscribed to the theory of "If a little CS is good, a lot of CS is fan-flippin'-tastic! OOH-RAH!"

Pepper=Hot. Hot=Fire. You need to use an arm to point it at someone, therefore: Pepper Spray=Firearm.

Nope... but I am suggesting that he was a willing participant in the dispute that ended with him being sprayed. I am suggesting that he had every opportunity to end the discussion before being sprayed. I don't think he has the right to badger someone who is illegally parked. Do you?

You are both so full of $hit we could use some of that air freshener. In my police academy class we had BUNCHES of former Marines and former Army troops. When the pepper spray hit them they, like the rest of us, dropped like a prom dress.

Police-grade pepper spray is the GOOD stuff. I was speaking of civilian pepper spray, which is watered down considerably.

BTW, cops tend to laugh off civilian pepper spray, too.

40 year olds almost automatically deserve respect from 16 year olds. Yep. Most of the time.. yep.

No, the bottom line is that he was assaulted by a very stupid, dangerous woman for no good reason. And you're playing the part of the @$$40!& by cheering her on just because the guy's a teen.

I don't give assholes respect just because of their age.

That sounds like a very good suggestion.

"Whoa! That's a pretty broad brush you two are using."

I'm not saying that everyone in Mass is a blithering socialist idiot......just the vast majority of those that put scumbags like Kennedy and Kerry into office and pass the kind of simpleton laws/regulations that permeate the place.

No offense is/was intended to the sane and good people that are fighting the good fight up there. Y'all know who you are.
