Yep--he was the bastard son of a Scottish peddler/traveler and Rachel Levine--a Huegenot woman who married a Jewish guy and then split with him.
His biologic father never had anything to do with him and he was orphaned at 13 when his mother passed. Because of his genius he was sent to NYC by some rich guys on the island and the rest, as they say, is history.

"Nevis is, after all, the birthplace of Mr. Ten Dollar Bill himself, Alexander Hamilton."
I remember visiting his house when I was down there in 90'. Nevis was a great place back then, no resorts.

Nope--my hobby is the Revolution and the folks that did it. General Washington is my favorite (there was simply NO ONE like him), but I also like Hamilton, Cesar Rodney, John Adams and General Hugh Mercer. I do not like Jefferson. (Aren't you sorry you asked?)

"We don't want it to be a part of our culture," said acting general manager of the Nevis port authority, Oral Brandy. "It's not a practice society likes here."
"But you will accept it," said ACLU attorney Anal Whine.

Great Island
it has excellent international offshore incorporation laws. Around the time i was there a dutch man visiting the island killed his wife while staying at the 4 (something ) Golf resort. I believe he was hung with a week of the trial. I don't think it was a good vacation for them.
I loved the place.
