I've been ranting about nonprofits here for a few years now. I've looked at the financials of dozens and dozens of some of these so-called "charities". For example, have you ever seen "Consumer Reports"? It's published by something called "Consumers Union". Which is an non-profit. They have almost $200 million dollars in assets! Amazing. How about the "Anti-Defamation League"? $86 million in assets and they pay Abe Foxman $400K+ a year to run their "charity". The list goes on and on. There are over 1 million of these nonprofits now. That's up several 100 thousand from when I started posting about them here on FreeRepublic just a few years back. We need to reform the nonprofits laws in America.

I've never liked Imus. I think he's a jerk and I can hardly understand what he is saying. He mumbles like he's on qualludes.

But hey, it's a free country and I can turn him off.

With that said it appears that this ranch is not a play toy for him and his wife. They take no money from the nonprofit. If they go to the ranch and skinny dip in the pool I'd say since they are actually doing something close to charity that's fine with me. I've done things for kids with cancer too. It's a good thing.

What Imus has is better than what I see from entities like "The Carter Center" which has almost a 1/4 of a billion dollars in assets. Every year they throw some big ski party they all have a goot time at. From what I can see you don't a lot of sick kids invited.

A lot of these nonprofits are scams. This one Imus has does not appear to be one to me.
