I read a post here that said he was a member of the Hemlock society. A society dedicated to legalizing suicide.
A proper representative would have been able to reach a reasonable settlement. A proper attorney ad litem, not the ringer appointed by the judge, would have been a zelous advocate for life absent any written document an a husband who had MS circumstances. There would be room for reason.
MSchiavo was surrounded and diverted by crusaders who wanted to establish case law (legislate via the courts) one step closer to legal suicide and then legal presumption of duty to die.
Terri's legacy is going to be using the legislature to trump those mandatory efforts. The only question is what will Terri's law contain. (perhaps a Terri's law I, Terri's law II, etc.)
First step may very well be for FL to mandate the presumption of life in the absence of a written document. Additionally it should require the court to use current infidelity as evidence of unfitness to be a guardian of a spouse. (IOW only present cheating/cohabiting.)
I know FL will have a Terri's law II now.
