Michael Schiavo lawyer on board of directors of Terri’s hospice
CFP ^ | March 25, 2005 | Judi McLeod

Tragic that some of the most compelling facts in the Terri Schiavo case didn’t emerge before she reached death’s door.

While the mainline media was probing whether the world’s most famous hospice victim had really told husband Michael she would not want to live in a persistent vegetative state, it completely missed the ties of Michael Schiavo’s lawyer to the very hospice where the life-and-death drama played out.

See The Proof Today! From February 13, 1997 to about April 26, 2001 Attorney George Filos was listed as a member of the Board of Directors for "The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast" on the non-profit’s annual reports.

Suncoast operates the hospice where Terri Schiavo has been held.

One doesn’t have to rely on the annual reports of the hospice where Terri Schiavo was left to die for proof of Filos’ board membership. It is stated in the author’s description in the George Filos book, Litigation as Spiritual Practice.

It was in the summer of 1998 when Filos filed the first lawsuit to withdraw food and water from the disabled Terri Schiavo.

The chronology of events is as follows: "Filos becomes Michael Shiavo’s lawyer and files the petition. Then the law in Tallahassee gets changed. The Schiavo case gets heard. In that order." (The David Allen Show).

Surely it’s important to look at who lobbied for changing the law on the books to make food and water be defined as "artificial" life support.

In 1999, House Bill 2131 was introduced for the Florida Elder Affairs and Long-Term Care Committee.

Representative Gus Michael Bilirakis, who also lists himself on the Suncoast Hospice Board of Directors, lobbied on Bill 2131.

It is difficult to understand why the mainline media did not bring these facts before the public in reporting . . . .

I hate to burst your bubble, but the right honorable gentleman is not eligible to nominate Dr. Hammesfahr for a Nobel.

Thanks. My bubble isn't burst, so you needn't worry.

I'm glad to know a letter of nomination was sent, even if they didn't accept the nomination.

IT sickens me too, and I think it will forever. This horrific abuse of justice led to her death by judicial decree, levied by her so called husband who did not even acknowledge her as his wife and survivor in his mom's obituary, but rather listed Jodi Centonze as his fiance.

He did not consider Terri to be a human being.

He was and is a monster and deserves every day of the hell he will live in for the rest of his life on earth.

I am not sorry that he has to hide now. That he will have to suffer the condemnation of thousands who recognize him when he ventures out from his prison will have been earned a thousand times over. Now he gets to live the life he forced Terri to live even as he plotted her death. HER EARLY DEATH BY JUDICIAL DECREE SPONSORED BY THE SUNCOAST HOSPICE OF FLORIDA!

Also I read somewhere that Felos was not his original last name.

I think someone was quoting from his book.

Who would want to read his book to find out?

>>I read on the Internet (briefly) that Greer's wife is also on the board of directors of the hospice. I only saw it once. Is that true?

No, I'm fairly certain that was salted in various places across the internet by persons trying to discredit the internet sleuthers. NO one can find any reputable source for that. All leads went nowhere. Probably not true. (When they get us to accept tidbits that are easily proven wrong, they discredit everything we may have gathered.)

A more believable rumor was that Greer's wife was the Pat Greer associated with the local paper, St. Pete Times, IIRC

Someone also said that Greer was divorced a few years back but we couldn't find any more on that. There is also still a female fellow county commissioner Greer shared about 8 years with, back when he was also on that commission of ill repute. She is also on the hospice board.

Maybe Michael wanted to perhaps deny her the long term care by depriving her of all the care and rehabilitation she needed.

Ya think. I thought Michael's goal was to follow her wishes by having her life terminated since she was in persistant vegetative state. When she was placed in hospice, Michael had already gone to court to have the feeding tube removed. He didnt plan on hospice being a long term situation. It only became that due to meddling by others.

making Terri appear as unresponsive as possible

So you admit she was unresponsive. Finally an honest person. I knew if I searched long enough...

Now that was disgusting. It's a matter of relativity.

He didn't say she was unresponsive but that they were trying to make "Terri appear as unresponsive as possible."

There is a difference there.

You twisted his words. You should be ashamed of yourself. ;P

Just shame on you.

A very 'liberal' style word twist. Interesting.

One wonders why michael schiavo allowed no pictures or videos by the family of Terri...the one they did make they were punished for...immensely...with 52 days of no access to terri...during which time she lost FIVE TEETH. Of course..he did not allow dental care (oh the great hope of an infection finally doing the 'bitch' in - as he was known to call her, just did not ever seem to work...poor mikey-nothing like making someone already suffering a disability of immense proportions live like a caged animal while her death was plotted and carried out--what an absolute monster of horrific depth.)

"This sure needs to be investigated."

Unfortunately the million dollar question is "will it ever be investigated?"

I still want to know what Felos spent the money ( a large sum ) on, that he got from Terri's settlement money.( The money that was supposed to be for her therapy, that went into his (Felos's) pocket- thanks to yet another ruling by "merciful and honorable" judge Greer.( I bet some of Terri's money is in Greer's pocket too, but it will never be proven, swiss bank account or something.)

Unbelievable.

It will NEVER be investigated. Mikey and Felos and Greer got away with murder right in our faces. I won't be happy til I see mugshots.

Okay. If you want to be nominated, let me know and I'll send a letter. It will be every bit as effective as Dr. Hammesfahr's nomination.

So was judge greer, so was sheriff everett rice, so was congerssman mike bilirakis.

Again, where's the conflict of interest?

"So you admit she was unresponsive"

I admit that I believe Michael wanted everything possible short of shooting her in the head to make her appear that way. I do believe that Terri was responsive despite Michael's best efforts, even after several days of starvation.

I see your favorite dance is the twist. LOL

"If what you say is true, it would seem that Felos' position on the board only helped MS's case. That isn't a conflict of interest."

Are you not aware that he was Michael's attorney? Or are you not aware what 'conflict of interest' means? Which is it?

I am.

Explain how Felos' representation of MS while serving on the board of the hospice is a conflict of interest.

What you described is not a conflict of interest. His representation of MS was not compromised by his being on the board, and vice versa.
