Of course, she did it for the dark side and, of course, she sent him back to her brother Fidel. This should show us that they don't back off out of fear of offending somebody no matter how evil their action. Why should our side cower in fear of political repercussions over doing the right thing?
If I remember correctly, wasn't Reno also acting against an order of a state court when she had Elian snatched? Didn't seem to bother her a bit.
