And he told me to mind my own business. Now, he had, you know, promised that before. So it was a complete change. And that was the onset of the problem.

MICHAEL SCHIAVO: He came in the room, he wanted money. He testified he was angry he didn't get any.

LARRY KING: He wanted the money for himself?

KING: Not for rehab for her?

SCHIAVO: No, he wanted the money for himself.

Obviously, this is a he-said-he-said situation. It all depends on which of the two men you believe. You believe Michael's version of the incident. Other people believe Robert Schindler's version of the incident. Both are polar opposites. And so are both sets of supporters.

I understand that the Schindler's took their retirement money and paid for Terri's rehab prior to the lawsuit. They supposedly had an agreement with MS that they would be repaid if he won the lawsuit. The plans were to build a house especially equipped for someone in Terri's condition and have the Schindler's take care of her.
The Schindlers went to the nursing home, found out about the DNR order, confronted Michael about the order and the money. MS got angry, began throwing things, and severed relationship with the in-laws.
