A man in Texas who said LASIK surgery was too expensive to correct his eye sight had the bridge of his glasses permanently pierced into his nose, according to a Local 6 News report.
|
James Sooy was tired of wrestling with his eyeglasses and instead of contacts decided to have a post pierced into his face for permanent lenses.
|
"These, you know they are stuck to my face, with the other ones, if they were pulled, they would just come off real simple," Sooy said. "They're easier to work with and there is no safety risks involved."
|
Obscurities owner and professional piercer Allen Faulkner said the piercing was like any other.
|
Sooy said the piercing fit his lifestyle.
|
Most medical experts warn that many piercing procedures could cause permanent damage.

1. I can't believe that this (cough) 'man' is a native Texan.
2. Too bad he didn't keep the money that he spent on piercing himself and hire an English grammar tutor instead.

Looks like some one has been reading too much William Gibson. Besides, I always pictured Molly Millions as being somewhat more attractive - and female...

Next logical step will be getting his iPod earphones permanently pierced into his ear canals!
Then again, if he can't afford LASIK surgery, then chances are he doesn't own an iPod.

Well, considering I seem to have my desk chair permanently welded to my ass, I guess the glasses aren't such a big deal.

If you're going to do that anyway, I suppose it's kind of neat.
It's still kinda hazardous though. Maybe they have a slide-release in case they are pulled...

Oh my! I'll admit to getting a little frustrated with having to push my glasses back into place while working, but WOW!
The pictures look unreal.

Interesting way to get your 15 minutes of fame. Next time he will be in the news is the day the glasses get caught on something and get ripped from his face.

oh i get it, he was trying to figure out how they did it on matrix - and promo his biz at the same time...
