RICHMOND -- Virginia Commonwealth University has tightened security because of threats against a faculty member who led a mixed-sex prayer service that drew harsh criticism throughout the Muslim world. The precautionary measures were taken the week after Islamic studies professor Amina Wadud led 80 to 100 men and women in Muslim prayer at a church in New York. Muslim clerics denounced her actions and some have suggested that it was part of a plot to corrupt Islam, which requires separate religious services for men and women.

I feel ya; I definitely feel. As if using a whole generation of youths to strap on bombs and kill people isnt corrupting enough!! The need to get their heads out of their camel's @$$!!

I saw a report on how some politicians in the Netherlands are under constant guard because they voiced concerns over how Muslim immigrants to their country refuse to assilimate. It didn't sound like the politicians were saying Muslims should give up their backgrounds completely but were just saying that when someone chooses to move into a country they should at least feel bound to (gasp) follow that country's laws and not demand that the country rearrange its whole culture for them. Many immigrants hold on to some of their customs and language, but things like "honor killings" demonstrate that many Muslim immigrants go further and flat-out refuse to abide by the laws of the place they chose.
This article reminds me of that. This service was in America; anyone offended by it didn't have to go. Yet the Muslim reaction to it is violent.
And requires the death of anyone who doesn't strictly follow its teachings.....
Sounds to me, Islam doesn't need corrupting, its beyond corrupt already.
