ANTI-CHRISTIAN JIHAD

Left-wing intellectuals will conduct a major academic conference at the City University of New York (CUNY) April 29-30 titled "Examining the Real Agenda of the Religious Far Right." The event is co-sponsored by tax-supported CUNY and the New York Open Center.

Skipp Porteous, a former Pentecostal minister, is scheduled to lecture on the "Christian Jihad." He has written online: "Have I rejected God? No. Man created God in his own image. I reject that image."

Other lectures listed include, "Religion and Secrecy in the Bush Administration," "On the Psychology and Theocracy of George W. Bush: Reflections in a Culture of Fear," and "Fundamentalism: The Fear and the Rage."

"Man created God in his own image." (by a "former Pentecostal minister")

At least Sam Kineson, a fellow "former Pentecostal minister," was funny. This guy's just stupid.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but they might be surprised how wrong it is.

God apparently terrifies these leftists. Have they considered that it is Christians attempts to be more in line with the will of God that leads to their positions on issues? I agree that self proclaimed prophets need to be taken with some healthy skepticism, but these academics steadfast belief that anyone who disagrees with them is a dangerous menace is breathtaking in its arrogance and lack of vision.

"Secrecy and Religion in the Bush Administration". Wait a minute...I thought the left was mad that Bush doesn't keep his faith secret enough!

Of all the "Institutions of higher learning" in this country, CUNY is probably the most blatantly Marxist.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more 'ministers' speaking out against Christians.

You know... just like 'People for the American Way' is an atheist group.

Curiously they CAN"T take on Muslims! It would be discrimination, it would be seen as an attack on freedom of religion, and the free expression thereof, it would be considered racist, and the ACLU would be all over it!

We Christians need to start taking these cases to court, when they come up in our areas! The above mentioned denials of constitutional rights are valid, and it is against Christians. Maybe we need to coin a few pages out of their books! This is incitement of anti-christianism, and it is Christian bashing, plain and simple.

left-wing intellectuals....

It's getting to the point where, when I read something written or said or opined by people described by this term or any variation of it, I pass on the "information" as drastic, wacko, extreme, unrealistic, nonsensical, schizoid.

I'm guilty of profiling.

Of course their are extremists on any issue. But those are rare! A Christians faith is what keeps them stable, values holding, moral, decent, law abiding citizens. To make how they live, wrong, is to make all that they live wrong, right is wrong, wrong is right.

HEY!!! There ya go, we should start, (justifiably so!) communist bashing. Call it what it is! Look what supremacist attitudes did for the Wisconsin High School! We should make it illegal as a hate crime LOL fight fire with fire!

Well, it's already started with this guy Wallis and his book on why the "Left doesn't get it and the Right gets it wrong," or some crap. Sojourners is as big a Marxist front organization as I've ever seen.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in
heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his
savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good
for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill
cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (St. Matthew 5:10-16)
