I agree .. I'm disturbed by that too.
No state or county or city police are considered paramilitary.
Wouldn't paramilitary require NG forces - not regular police ..?? Anybody know ..??

One for the Gipper, thanks for being there, for some of us in Mexico.

That's what the 13 year old twins told me. I didn't hear the adults say anything about being psychologically profiled, only the children.

IMO I would reckon that most LEO would probably consider that particular assignment a rather crappy assignment. Listening to people they don't even know trying to get them to quit their job would make it so.

I say a guy in a hat like you described, but I didn't meet him. I'm sure just being there was a big help.

LE is only paramilitary in that it has a rank structure, chain of command analogous to the military and sworn uniformed personnel. In that it could be considered a potential supporting arm of the military, "paramilitary" is definitely a poor defintion.

I was surprised at the vehemence of the woman at the vigil. I finally figured out she was probably one of their wife's or something, even though she was standing over on Terris side, because thats mainly who she was joking and talking with. My only other comment is, I wish she hadnt interrupted so I could ask why he considered his job paramilitary. "
Probably a spy for the police planted amongst the protesters.

There are many who wouldn't walk across the street to support someone who needed it. Driving eleven hours is to be admired.

Listening to people they don't even know trying to get them to quit their job would make it so. So you think it's easier for them to arrest people trying to give water to a woman who's been dehydrated to death than it is for them to have to answer the simple question of "WHY?" from a stranger?

You don't see the big names here, just the little people. That gets me to thinking, where are all the big names ? The "civil rights leaders", the "movie stars", the "religious leaders".

Thomas Moore Law Center was asked by the governor in 2003 whether he had the right to prevent the imminent death of Terri. They reaffirmed their opinion that he had the legal authority recently.

// The people at the vigil are various individuals and groups of caring people from all over America trying to work together to make a difference. // -- hi, FRa, that's what I saw there, too -- a lot of people who really cared, were troubled by the terrible unthinkable assault on an innocent woman inside that building. thanks so much for telling your story, and for your actions to help those who needed it.
And I'm wondering also about the psychological profiling going on -- was that also done to the adults? or just to get in the heads of the younger ones?
