"To me, that was the most offensive thing that has happened so far."

Yep, and that's the reason he was kicked out of the church...

"Three cheers for the judge's church! '

If this is the kind of religion they practice, they need to rethink the origins of the faith.

Can they be disbarred?

Of course they can be, but its highly unlikely that they would be. I think a judge or lawyer would have to be caught doing something absolutely unforgivable, like secretly tape recording one of his own conversations in the wrong jurisdiction, or something of that nature, to be disbarred.

A gross miscarriage of justice that causes an innocent person to be starved to death just won't get him on the radar. </heavy sarcasm>

That would make "judicial justice" an oxymoron.

"going to have to answer to a higher judge and authority when they die t"

Yes, a compassionate one.

More offensive than starving a person to death?

I wasn't being funny, I was being sarcastic.
How do I put in sarcasm tags on a post? Anyone know?

I'd like to know what Judge Greer got that was worth more to him than his supposed Christian faith.

Were I in Terri's father's position right now (God forbid), knowing that the government (more precisely the judiciary) was going to starve my child to death, I would have as my desire a complete reordering of how the judiciary functions, namely that it be restored to it's constitutionally limited role. Therefore, I would in the presence of the armed guard(s) supply water to my child's lips. I would then dare the State of Florida to prosecute me for violating the court's order. If the state prosecuted all levels of government would "reap the whirlwind" so to speak. The public would be outraged even more than now and changes would occur.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if he landed in the hospital for a bad gall bladder or something??? And his wife convinced a judge to refuse him food and water with armed guards present...

I might be willing to give Greer some leeway if he begins sentencing rapists, murderers, child molesters to death by starvation for the rest of his life.

If this is the kind of religion they practice, they need to rethink the origins of the faith.

It depends on how they approached Greer. If they followed proper biblical protocol for a chuch member in sin then they are completely, biblically justified in removing him from membership.

If you disagree with this then please tell me how, and make sure that you support your position with scripture.

Oh gee, I kinda figure the Southern Baptists have a pretty good grip on the "origins of faith".

I guess you haven't been checking the poll numbers, even the majority of evangelicals have no problems with the feeding tube removal.

"Dang! I take back most of the bad things I said about him! I didn't know he was a doctor, too.[/sarcasm]"

I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be the Pinellas County Medical Examiner, to boot. [/sarcasm]

How Christian of them.

Glad to know none of them may ever have done anything the others wouldn't approve of.

I hope they can be more than simply disbarred..I hope they all can be charged with murder with malice of forethought and whatever else can be thrown at them. Then when convicted they face the same "fine" they passed upon Terri.

Polls don't mean a hoot to me (or to John Kerry either). Believe me, if Mr. Schindler were handcuffed and prosecuted, you ain't seen nothin yet!
