I had business dealings with him a couple of years ago. I didn't care for him, but he was a real personable guy.
He came across that way on TV, so I guess it's no surprise he would be as well in real life. I am sure it served him well.
It's hard to know what to say, since I didn't care for a lot of his shenanigans in courtrooms, and that's all I know of the man. I am certain there was more to him than that, though.
