A leading player in the Terri Schiavo debate is a Florida judge whose fame began five years ago when he ruled that no compelling evidence showed Mrs. Schiavo wanted to be kept alive.
Pinellas County Circuit Judge George W. Greer, 63, has held firm on that ruling, despite a sea of death threats, angry e-mails, phone calls and criticisms from disability rights groups and others that he is biased in favor of Mrs. Schiavo's husband, Michael Schiavo.
Sympathetic profiles in two local newspapers noted that he must retain sheriff's deputies as bodyguards against protesters who dog his steps.

Why should "God" give these threats so much as a second thought?

I understand the frustration this judge has caused. I don't think death threats against the judge will help Terri's case at all. Prayer would go a lot farther, IMHO.

Without getting all excited over this, Judge Greer is the guy who started threatening death to other people.
He should have thought about what happens when you do that.

Terri Schiavo isn't getting threats. She is being put to death by court order.

"A leading player in the Terri Schiavo debate is a Florida judge whose fame began five years ago when he ruled that no compelling evidence showed Mrs. Schiavo wanted to be kept alive."Is that his actual ruling? or is this somehow out of context?
I would have thought the presumption should be the other way around- was ANY 'compelling evidence' shown that she wanted to die?

While I don't endorse it, I don't think either Greer or Michael Schiavo will die of old age and, frankly, don't care.

Hey! I'm a Christian, and I don't support this kind of activity!
Christians have as many fanatics as the Muslims do.

As Tom Delay said, the legal issues in this case are complicated, but the moral issue is not. I see many people on FR wanting to debate the legalities, who said what in court, who is a better doctor, etc.....and that is fine if that makes you feel better about wanting Terri dead.
In the end though, I want to be able to say that I was on the side of life.

"God" Greer just may start issuing death sentences to those offenders from the bench! He had no problem sentencing Terri to death. Since he is now "God" no pesty little things like the law and Constitution should stop him. Didn't stop him last time.

MSNBC is reporting death threats to Michael Schivo's sister in law...would that be Michael Schivo's, "more than a girlfriend"; Jodi's, sister? I can't imagine it's Terri's sister as the threat was regarding what would happen were Terri to die.
