Interestingly most people who are collecting have no idea that the charity has a position on something other than what the stated goal of charity is.<<<<
Yep. A local Boy Scout troop was collecting for the towns Food Bank because the Food Bank had lost thousands in monetary donations and food items.
What they did not tell these kids and their parents, was they had become affiliated with a group called Americas Second Harvest. Shortly thereafter, the food bank quit giving to local churches food pantries. (Of course, we all quit giving to THEM as well!)
I had looked up this group on the net, and they are subversives intent on overthrowing the Republican Party, and sought to remove religion from mainstream life. I'd bet they despised all the Scouts stood for, and it was the scouts who they sent to round up donations!
Of course, I informed the two scouts that came to my door and their parents. I did not follow up - should have.
More people need to speak out when they find an organization with hidden agendas.

"Know what? I'm not giving another red cent to ANY charity that feeds the hungry. Since starvation is so wonderful - Let them Starve!"
I've been thinking about putting a picture of Terri in every political letter I receive asking for donations and mailing it back.
