Has become a Marine thing, but I remember my basic training ('64) when a couple of yahoos forgot and called a rifle a "gun" and the resultant festivities....

We had a couple of the same at Great Mistakes do the same thing.
Thankfully, I was an Army brat....if I had said it my old man woulda killed me.
