Mel Gibson: Terri's Killing Is 'Murder'
News Max ^ | March 31st, 2005

Posted on 03/31/2005 12:00:48 AM PST by M. Espinola

In his strongest comments yet on the Terri Schiavo case, actor Mel Gibson calls her killing "nothing more than state sanctioned murder.”

The actor and director spoke out Wednesday night in a telephone interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

"I heard their cry for help,” Gibson explained his public comments. Gibson insisted that Terri Schiavo is not in a vegetative state.

Gibson said he decided to take a public stand because "it is completely wrong to deprive this poor woman from food and water.”

He added that the court ordered method of killing – depriving her of basic sustenance -- "is a prolonged and cruel execution.”

Gibson said he is closely following the case and is astounded by the developments.

"I just sit here watching this whole scenario play out in front of me with my mouth wide open, that our country has come to this,” he said, adding, "I think it’s a really black day.”

The actor offered little hope for Terri Schiavo at this point, describing the appeals as "a little too little too late.”

"It’s nothing more than state sanctioned murder,” Gibson continued.

He was also disturbed that a local Florida judge was given the unquestioned power to sentence Schiavo to death.

"All the big guys, they’ve got their hands tied by some tin-horned judge down there,” he said. "Common, when they want to whip a judge they got no problem getting Judge Moore in a heart beat.”

"It’s so wrong and I watch it, appalled and stunned, that we have gotten to this.”

And the court that decided Terri fate is controlled by what party? (hint Judge Greer is GOP). And the court of last appeal the SCOUS that refuse to hear the case is 7 of 9 GOP. If you keep drinking the kool-aid Dane you will grow a trunk and a tail

He's a local judge, elected and not appointed. The people of Pinellas County elected him and I think Pinellas county went Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004.

But you go ahead with your knee jerk and blame Jeb, when it has been proven that he has tried to do everything within the law to help Terri.

Where does the ACLU get all that money for the purpose of killing America?

I don't know, but you might look into the Pew Foundation and the other foundations recently revealed to be behind the "push" for CFR.

You can't blame this on the democrats, at least not directly. This is not a left/right thing this is a good/evil thing. I am a republican and I am ashamed of our republican government. Cowards or liars or both, shame on them. We as republicans must hold our leaders responsible for their abject failure to do their duty. Do not give them a pass on this, make sure they know that we are mad as hell at them. If they can turn this into a finger pointing contest then NOTHING will get better and down the slippery slope we go

I guess Jeb should have gone the hillary route and not have said a word.

Then he wouldn't have the animus of you, IMO.

I fully agree with Mel Gibson's overview, as well as your comments.

Notice who is not supporting Terri, the radical NOW womens lib types...not a word, not one.

The ultra-leftist NOW bunch would never support the right to life, since they ghoulishly champion 'Abortion Murder Inc', which is an intricate money making component of today's eugenicist's empire for the global death dispensing machine.

Has America reached this point?

" I guess Jeb should have gone the hillary route and not have said a word."

That would have been better, then turning this into a national right to life fight and losing. Terri is not the only Terri dying or about to die in the USA. Jeb picked this fight, made it a national fight and then walked away when things got real hot. Not a sterling performance.

Adultery isn't against the law.

http://www.unmarriedamerica.org/News-About-Us/Anti-cohabitation.htm
Florida Statutes - Chapter 798

798.01 Living in open adultery.--Whoever lives in an open state of adultery shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. Where either of the parties living in an open state of adultery is married, both parties so living shall be deemed to be guilty of the offense provided for in this section.

The Germans did "scientific" work in WWll to see what would hhappen when people were starved to death. Now 60 years later it is happening in the USA.
I notice they are feeding the Pope via tube.
Terri did nothing bad to deserve this fate other than marry the wrong person.
Marriage in the future could be harmful to life now that the guvment has performed starvation death.

"Last night I caught part of Hannity and Colmes with Catherine Crier and that gentleman lawyer or judge who cowrote their current bestseller. She went ballistic in defense of Schiavo and activist judges. Her coauthor...a sensible man, articulate, made her look like a fool. Crier doesn't care how or why Terri got in this state. All she cares about is preserving judicial power over the other branches of govt. The heck with checks and balances."

Make no mistake about it..Once many people gain visibility through their profession, they will condone anything to keep that dominance. Sounds like Catherine Crier is one of those. Remember the story of the frog being boiled in the water without even knowing it??

Then, why isn't he arrest daily?

Prosecutorial discretion. The laws against adultery and lewd and lacscivious behavior are "dead letter" so far as practical effect goes.

I believe Judge Greer ruled that the parents have no standing to speak for Terri. They parents begged Michael to file for divorce, but he refused.

This Judge Greer is some character!

Actually you're wrong. This case will have reverberations for years to come. The pro-death crowd wished that this would be hush hush.

People will digest this for years to come and people IMO, will not like what they see in the pro-death crowd the more they see.

This is more a failure of the judiciary than the legislature. You recall the legislation passed by the Florida legislature a couple years ago - it was ruled to be unconstitutional. If Greer erroneouslud EITHER Terri's wish -or- that Terri is PVS, then his order is in error. That would also be judical error, having no legislative remedy. Well, the US Congress attempted a legislatinve remedy, but we see how the federal courts handled that.

IMO, those who ardently paint this a a legislative failure are enaging in misdirection.

In terms of what makes debauched"Judgenfurer Greer armor plated"

Greer is part of, sold out to the corrupt Florida system of bribed 'justice'. At this moment the tyrannical Greer is drunk with absolute judicial power.

Read the fate of Nazi 'judge' Roland Freisler

Talk about precisely timed reciprocity!

The executive and legislative branches of our goverment are totally useless. Its the judiciary that really rules this country.

I have an idea for cutting government spending. Send everybody in the executive and legislature back home.
