Mel Gibson: Terri's Killing Is 'Murder'
News Max ^ | March 31st, 2005

Posted on 03/31/2005 12:00:48 AM PST by M. Espinola

In his strongest comments yet on the Terri Schiavo case, actor Mel Gibson calls her killing "nothing more than state sanctioned murder.”

The actor and director spoke out Wednesday night in a telephone interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

"I heard their cry for help,” Gibson explained his public comments. Gibson insisted that Terri Schiavo is not in a vegetative state.

Gibson said he decided to take a public stand because "it is completely wrong to deprive this poor woman from food and water.”

He added that the court ordered method of killing – depriving her of basic sustenance -- "is a prolonged and cruel execution.”

Gibson said he is closely following the case and is astounded by the developments.

"I just sit here watching this whole scenario play out in front of me with my mouth wide open, that our country has come to this,” he said, adding, "I think it’s a really black day.”

The actor offered little hope for Terri Schiavo at this point, describing the appeals as "a little too little too late.”

"It’s nothing more than state sanctioned murder,” Gibson continued.

He was also disturbed that a local Florida judge was given the unquestioned power to sentence Schiavo to death.

"All the big guys, they’ve got their hands tied by some tin-horned judge down there,” he said. "Common, when they want to whip a judge they got no problem getting Judge Moore in a heart beat.”

"It’s so wrong and I watch it, appalled and stunned, that we have gotten to this.”

" I agree. It will be their motives that I'll object to."

Ironic too, since the bogus MSM polls was what caused our brave leaders to turn tail and run leaving poor Jeb to take the heat.

Been thinking about that. ya know I just don't think even MSM could be that hypocritical

MSM:Don't do that, Don't do that,Don't do that

MSM:Why didn't you do that? Why didn't you do that? Why didn't you do that?

It will been interesting to see just how low they'll go.

I hope that happens.

Frankly, I am truely amazed that this can even be happening!

Imagine considering food and water as being extreme measures to keep her alive!

Why don't they throw her out in the street and deny her shelter also, isn't that helping keep her alive also?

What the heck is going on in Florida that this could be allowed!

Right after Terri's funeral we all ought to just pound away at seeing that justice is done. This is legal murder. Everyone involved with killing Terri has got to go to jail or else this country is doomed.

It ought to now be very apparent why the demoocrats are fighting as hard as they are to block Bush's judicial appointments. We must fight harder to see they get in.

Remember when Clinton became president? Janet Reno went and fired all the Federal judges...or at least I think she did...please correct me if I have it wrong...but she fired a whole bunch of judiciary people. Bush ought to do something similar (after he gets his appointments).

Mel was right. The politicians did a good show CYA. If they were sincere, Terri would be recovering in a hospital this morning and MS would be down at the jailhouse behind bars.

Mel Gibson is one of the most courageous Americans..He is a true hero..A David against the Goliath of paganism which has run rampant in the U.S. for many years, expressing itself most profoundly through the leftist media, the entertainment industry, and now, stunningly clear, through the judicial system. Picture the Supreme Court with the 10 Commandments carved on the building.."Thou shall not kill," refusing to hear this landmark case. Who can take this in?..If our leaders..Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever.. persist in a state of helplessness in the wake of this, we are doomed.

let's see, every government entity top to botton involved in this case both USA and Fla is controlled by the GOP and Greer is GOP too. But the GOP was hepless? Is that your story? Are you sticking too it?

Uh the courts aren't and it was a democrat controlled Florida supreme court which overturned Terri's law which led to her tube being taken out.

But you go ahead and blame Jeb Bush and not the greer/felos/schiavo group who are pushing for Terri's starvation.

Last night I caught part of Hannity and Colmes with Catherine Crier and that gentleman lawyer or judge who cowrote their current bestseller. She went ballistic in defense of Schiavo and activist judges. Her coauthor...a sensible man, articulate, made her look like a fool. Crier doesn't care how or why Terri got in this state. All she cares about is preserving judicial power over the other branches of govt. The heck with checks and balances.

I believe Judge Greer ruled that the parents have no standing to speak for Terri. They parents begged Michael to file for divorce, but he refused.

The Floridians should get their state legislature to change that law...

It was just sometime in the 90s that the law was changed to include food and water as extreme measures -- through intense lobbying by Felos and the rest of the Hemlock Society (they had earlier been defeated in their attempts to legalize euthanasia outright).

IIRC, it is still not legal to withhold food and water from someone who is not PVS -- undoubted why Greer rejected any tests or medical testimony indicating that Terri is not.

Janet Reno went and fired all the Federal judges...

Can't fire judges. Clinton replaced all the U.S. Attorneys -- basically the ones who decide who to prosecute in federal courts.

"Gibson nails why this case is so important. This is only the first step in a larger agenda by the pro-death squad to take out those they deem worthless."

Did anyone here write down O'Riley's "Talking Points" of last evening concerning what the goals of the ACLU are in their quest to dominate America and turn it into an entirely different nation where no one can own property and where property owners might be destroyed?..The Founder's statement is not clear whether his intentions would be to jail property owners or even put them to death..Thoughts, please? They are extremely involved in the Terri Schiavo murder and they have achieved their goals over the years because of an activist and tyrannical judiciary..Most of their goals involve hatred of the Christian religion. Does anyone know which organization is the most energic in fighting the ACLU??I want to send a donation and I do not know who is best..Where does the ACLU get all that money for the purpose of killing America? Is another nation bankrolling them??

'why it's the democrats plan for 'fixing' social security"

You can't blame this on the democrats, at least not directly. This is not a left/right thing this is a good/evil thing. I am a republican and I am ashamed of our republican government. Cowards or liars or both, shame on them. We as republicans must hold our leaders responsible for their abject failure to do their duty. Do not give them a pass on this, make sure they know that we are mad as hell at them. If they can turn this into a finger pointing contest then NOTHING will get better and down the slippery slope we go.

Thanks maryz....suspected I had it a little wrong.

Uh the courts aren't

And the court that decided Terri fate is controlled by what party? (hint Judge Greer is GOP). And the court of last appeal the SCOUS that refuse to hear the case is 7 of 9 GOP. If you keep drinking the kool-aid Dane you will grow a trunk and a tail.
