"This can't be about promoting trade," Michael Stürmer, a commentator in Die Welt wrote on Thursday, responding to Schröder's interview in Die Zeit. "Subconsciously or not, it's about a confrontation with the United States." Stürmer continued, "The Germans will pay a high price for such gestures." .

That Stuermer guy is a very wise fellow who knows something about butting heads with the USofA,in matters like this is a very, very BAD move.

Schroeder is a fool, trying to save his sorry ass on the political level, since the 12.5% unemployment rate in Germany is haunting him and his political career.

There will be a heavy price to be paid have Germans jump ship and sell sophisticated arms to the Chicom's.

Not to say even 91% of its populations oppose any arms sale to the PRC. See my post 13.
