Terry is a MARTYR, period. By the criteria of the Roman Catholic Church, she may be a candidate for Canonization (sainthood)

1. She died a Catholic, a daughter of the Church.

2. A miracle preceded her death: She lived FOURTEEN days without food or water; that is unheard of.

3. She was tortured to death, much as St. Agnes, among others

4. She died not for all of our sins as our Savior did, but to save mankind from one particular sin, the sin of callousness, of cruelty.

I almost forgot. Another miracle. Since her illness, she lived for FIFTEEN years without sin! Who among us can claim that? One of the many tragedies of the present Popes illness is that it may be quite some time before Terris sainthood can be considered. No matter. She is in eternity now, and has all the time in the world.

It is not as far-fetched to see Terri as a Martyr. The same day she died a friend of mine (an atheist) came over to talk to me. He has been very depressed lately and decided that day it was better to seek help then kill himself. He also said that he was wrong to be angry at God. He realized he needed to look at the good in every day instead of believing everything is bad.
I am not saying this is a miracle but is it not strange his redemption began on the day Terri died.
