Terri wasn't given a choice. there is NO proof that she ever said she would prefer to be starved to death - only a man to whom her continued breathing was inconvenient...and who only remembered, after 7 years, that she said she wouldn't want to be kept alive by artificial life support. What can I say? Every court believed him. And the law says the spouse has the last word in situations like this.

"What can I say? Every court believed him. That is a popular misunderstanding. Actually, only one court accepted this (Terri's purported wish to be disconnected from life support) and found it to be factual and dispositive of her wishes - Greer's court. The rest of the courts never reviewed any of his findings of fact, including this one.

Please give us contact information so we can warn YOUR spouse to name someone besides you to be his/her medical advocate because should he/she become ill and inconvenient to you that you will starve him/her to death.
