Terri Schiavo Cremated Amid Family Feud

Saturday, April 02, 2005

TAMPA, Fla.  Terri Schiavo's body was cremated Saturday as disagreements continued between her husband and her parents, who were unable to have their own independent expert observe her autopsy.

The cremation was carried out according to a court order issued Tuesday establishing that Michael Schiavo () had the right to make such decisions, said his lawyer, George Felos. He said plans for burying her ashes in Pennsylvania, where she grew up, had not yet been completed.

Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, had wanted to bury their daughter in Pinellas County so they could visit her grave.

Terri Schiavo, 41, died Thursday after the removal of the feeding tube that had kept her alive since 1990, when she suffered brain damage that court-appointed doctors determined had placed her in a persistent vegetative state (). Her parents had fought in court to keep her alive, disputing the doctors' opinions and saying there was hope of improvement.

"The sad part is she did it to herself."

This is seriously contested -- and it's only one of the questions that's not been answered adequately by anyone. So, I disagree with you.

You're nuts for those comments.

You know that she had an eating disorder about as much as I know she didn't.

Well thank you. Too much introspection today I guess.

In 24 hours?

The cremations I know of took at least two weeks or more for return of the body.

If you have nothing constructive to say, stay off this thread. Or your stay here will be short.

I'd like to see some immediate frontier justice as well, so I guess that makes me a bad person too!

Convenient isn't it. They couldn't have hoped for more Another doctor came out and stated much of the CT evidence was erroneous here

And this, after the judge barred unsealing the 89 reports of spousal abuse which were filed about Terri.

Of course, the offical autopsy will only reveal she was beautiful in death. . .

The sad part is she did it to herself.

And, I assume, Laci Peterson did it to herself when she picked the wrong type of person to marry.

An autopsy from the Nazi Pinellas county's appointed medical examiner? The cover up rages on.

Get a grip. First off... can this be deemed reliable in light of so many screwups by the news? Doubtful. Second, the autoposy is being done. Likely her brain was disected and tissue samples have been kept.

What a joke prominent conservatives are (I'm talking about you, Hannity!) in light of the unsubstantiated gossip mongering regarding Michael & Terri Schiavo. It sickens me. I'm embarrassed for nation-of-laws and liberty-loving conservatives everywhere.

"Shall we hold vigils for lung cancer patients who smoked all their lives, for people dying of liver ailments due to alcohol abuse, for people in a vegative state because of drug addictions?"

We do it all the time, it is the sign of God's mercy in all of us
