You're right..I just realized that..because you do see the near-empty House chamber..but aren't special order speeches still a House, and not a party fuction, per se...when the Dems are ranting, there's a GOP member...who drew the short straw, presiding, right?
I love to watch the special order speeches when someone like Tom Tancredo gets up or Mike Pence---
I hate it when you have like three dems, Kendrick Meek, that new brillo head girl from Florida, and Wexler, get up and "act" through their speeches---you can tell it is scripted...ugh
BTW, re: Hillary going to Rome---I am having a hard time with this and I know that I am becoming irrationally angry, but considering that she is not Catholic, nor a former head of state, or current Cabinet member---I find it embarressing that she is going to use this-and mark my words this WILL be used as campaign fodder!!!

Also, when we get to see the Senate back in session, and the first speaker, Ron Wyden starts threatening any Reps that might even think of constructing a law that would protect people like Terri Schiavo---I might have to start drinking, or something...LOL

On C-span right now they are showing a Senate hearing about military recruitment, with Lindsay Graham as Chair---
I used to like Graham, but now he makes me uncomfortable, because he is showing so much tendency to be a RINO---therefore, I just don't trust him...
Patty Murray wants to keep doing abortions because lots of women die in childbirth. I guess there is some sick, twisted logic in there somewhere, but I'm not buying it.

It is like their arguement if favor of partial-birth abortions---they say they are necessary to save the life of the mother---
And they haven't heard of caesaren sections? Most women get those right now if there is even a hint of a problem with the birth, or if they have a vacation coming and it would be inconvenient to still be pregnant (/s)...
They think WE are as stoopid as they are...and I guess they are right enough, because they keep getting re-elected.
I don't know if anyone is listening to Boxer, but I can't understand why Brownback doesn't just go over and strangle her. She makes no sense at all. She wants us to pay for lobbyists to change the laws of other countries???
