This is the THIRD State Official picked up for OWI in our state in the past year. (All Democrats.) Think our legislators will start toughening up our drunk driving laws? Yeah, right.

Stay tuned for "slap on the wrist" punishments for these upstanding, moral leaders of the Wisconsin Democratic Party. *Rolleyes*

The covering of t*rds in the catbox begins. If this drunk driver were Republican, you can bet your life that s/he'd be smeared from one end of our media to the other, and hung by sunset. Infuriating! Grrrr!

Officials Won't Release Lawmaker's Arrest Report
Sen. Russ Decker Apologizes For Conduct

POSTED: 4:24 pm CST April 1, 2005
UPDATED: 4:49 pm CST April 1, 2005

MADISON, Wis. -- Middleton police are refusing to release the drunken driving arrest report for state Sen. Russ Decker.

Decker apologized for his arrest, which occurred after he left an all-you-can-drink party held by tavern lobbyists in Madison late Tuesday.

Government watchdogs said police are taking advantage of a state Supreme Court decision in 1991 that exempts police reports from the state's open records law.

Gov. Jim Doyle last month called for the law to be changed, saying the exemption is too sweeping.

The exemption was also used to seal the records of the arrest of Rep. Frank Boyle for drunken driving in December.

A state Senator is in hot water after being picked up for drunken driving Tuesday night.

And did he condemn Bush like the "so drunk I killed a girl" Chappaquiddick Kennedy did when Bush's youthful DUI indiscretion was announced? Hmmmm?????

Another data point confirming that the media identifies the party of an official caught in wrongdoing only where that official is not a Democrat.

I'm NOT TRYING to defend democrats. And not that I don't think they'd skewer John Gard in a most evil fashion if he ever got picked up for DUI, but I do recall that Mike Ellis (Republican) endured scant coverage of his DUI in 2003. Recall the media just went to TOWN on democrat Peg Lautenschlager (while Doyle left her twisting in the wind).

He is the third state official facing drunken driving charges in the recent past.

It seems this is a hazard of representing the Milwaukee constituency, hey?

Heh, that's so true. I could do surgery at that blood alcohol level.

Then you would be truly OWI - operating while intoxicated.

It is different when the ruling class is charged with a serious offense than it is when one of the little people are. My guess is they will all get of with probation and a fine. (to be paid by the taxpayer) It don't matter if they are Democrat or Republican. Neither Jankelow (sp?) or Kennedy spent a day in jail after they KILLED someone. What do any of you think would happen if it were you or I?

"Operating While Intoxicated"

Sounds like an operating room term. Is he a doctor too?

I don't think so - probably wouldn't work that cheaply!
