Older and wiser, I hope. The best I remember, he didn't do too many things wrong. He was just David in a Goliath situation.

The media had their senatorial candidate and her name was hilary.

I saw the man campaign on the same day I saw Hillary Campaign. Rick seemed very uncomfortable in a large crowd. Hillary campaigned like a natural and campaigned EVERY DAY across the ENTIRE STATE.
Lazio was not a good candidate. He is a nice guy and was a competant legislator, but that's not enough for a New York Senate race.

He was just David in a Goliath situation. Meanwhile, he sucked up $40 million of GOP donations and SRCC funds which could have actually made a difference in the US Senate Races in places like say, Nebraska, where Dem. Ben Nelson won by 13,000 votes; Iowa where ultra-lib Harkin won vs. Greg Ganske; Lousiana where Mary Landrieu was incredibly vulnerable. But, what difference would 1 - 3 Republican Senate seats have made in the US Senate during W's first term?
