A week or two ago it jumped 10 cents a gallon in the Chicago area, too. We are now paying around $2.25-.45 for unleaded. At least that's what it was when I was out this morning. It could have jumped up again.

Doesn't Chicago have boutique gas? I know its been more expensive for many years now . . . better keep an eye on those pumps this afternoon. I hope you don't experience what I have!

I'm in the western/southwestern suburbs and we just have regular stations. They might have some special fancy stations in the city, but we have your standard BP, Mobile, Shell, Citgo, 76, etc. stations in my area.

After I hit my last post I was thinking about a few summers ago (at least 5-6 years ago) when there were a few stations that had gas at less then a dollar a gallon for about 2 months. It was not uncommon to find gas at $0.89-1.10. Has demand gone up that much in less then 10 years?

Anyway, I'm not going to complain that much (notice I didn't say, 'not at all' LOL!) because gas is still pretty cheap compared to everything else we buy.
