As a child attending Catholic school we attended Mass each morning and chanted the replies to the Priest in Latin. It is beautiful and is a form of the Gregorian Chants.
I had just done a search on Gregorian Chants when I came across this thread.

We we're listening to the chanting this morning. I commented to wife how pretty the Latin singing was. I was corrected real fast...CHANTING. Anyway, it's sounded very peaceful and appropriate.

I've posted this before, but I had a CD of Gregorian Chant that my granddaughter used to love to hear, she was under three when she first heard it...threw a FIT when it was over...we played it in the car on a trip to St. Louis, and she had the most peaceful expression when it was on...I think it resonates deep within us, no matter who we are or when we hear it...
