CAIRO, Egypt - A video posted Tuesday on the Internet showed purported al-Qaida in Iraq militants beheading a man said to be an Iraqi security force member.

A statement shown on the video identified the Iraqi National Guard member as Jassim Mohammed Hussein Mahdi, who appeared to be in his early 20s, and the black banner of al-Qaida in Iraq, which is headed by wanted Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

The video later showed Mahdi lying blindfolded on the ground before two masked men appeared. One held Mahdi's legs while the other severed his head with a knife with shouts of "Allahu akbar!" or "God is great!" heard from the background.

Al Qaeda has crossed the red line killing Muslims of their own, with more hatred against Al Qaeda by Iraqis to be seen. With these beheading of Iraqis, there is no more chance for Al Qaeda to win nor gain any support in Iraq. We might see news of Al Qaeda members in Iraq in the next few days with their head chopped off by Iraqis, just like what happened in Ramadi for seven Al Qaeda members being killed by local Sunni Iraqis.

It'll be a good day when these stinking vermin are defeated, once and for all.

Once the government stabilizes, I think we'll see a purge of these barbarians, first the Syrian and Saudi terrorists, then the local Baathists who pay and encourage them.

The Iraqis will not put up with this insanity forever. And they know it's their job to solve the problem.

It won't be pretty when it begins.

Wouldn't it be a refreshing change of pace! A good dose of vigilanteism here would be nice.

Let us hope that Jassim Mohammed Hussein Mahdi has a large family and clan that responds on its own with a little traditional Islamic justice against Jordanian usurpers who behead their family members.

Zarqarwi missed our attention. Having no Americans handy to use for his latest production, he grabbed the next best thing, an Iraqi who was trying to secure his country. BIG MISTAKE. Beheading Jews and Americans sold videos, this beheading of a Muslim may sell discontent.

It seems to me that this and the death of the Pope have Al Qaeda between a rock and a hard place. If they don't take advantage of the open borders and general chaos of the death of the holy father they will be seen as the ineffectual scum we all know they are. If, on the other hand, they try to take advantage of the open borders and general chaos of the event they will be seen as the scum we all know they are and probably lose what little support they have. Either way its Al Qaeda loses......

Clearly they don't. These particular brand are children of the devil.

As to Islam, even the most rudimentary of reads through the Quran/Koran makes it clear that it is nothing more than a counter Judeo-Christian religion/movement. For anyone to believe that there is any eternal redemptive value in its underpinnings is amazing. Talk about sheeplike behavior.

Mohammed never conquered death. He was only confused, and self admittedly, about the meaning of life even to the extent of wondering whether his dreams/visions were satanic or demonic.

Jesus came from God, whom he was, conquered death by rising from the dead revealing the outcome of those who will be redeemed. He is the way to God and eternal life. Mohammed is the way to eternal death.

Both faiths cannot possibly both be right. In fact, if any other faith than Christianity, an extension of Judaism, is correct, then Christianity falls by the wayside. The exercise is to test the viability of one's "religious" beliefs.

What muslims, along with everyone else need, is Christ.

Naturally there will be dissention here, but it is left for everyone to truly check their own beliefs more than superficially or for reasons of tradition.

Don't disagree with you at all. By any chance, are your citing something here that ties in with verses from the Koran or Hadith (or whatever it's called)? I would be very interested in seeing them.

The TV broadcasts where terrorists are confessing to the Iraqi people have been very effective in swaying public opinion. Acts like this simply hasten the process.

Many Iraqis have been quoted as agreeing with resistance against Americans as occupiers (ungrateful turds) but see killing Iraqis as unacceptable. Al Qaida is losing and flailing.
