The executive is made up of unaccountable, unelected bureaucrats illegally writing law. We don't need more of that BS.
A bureaucracy issuing decrees is one of the chief characteristics of a dictatorship.
they are not unelected - if the patriot act becomes too onerous, we can either petition our existing legislators and executives to changes it, or vote them out. if some judge somewhere is sympathetic to AQ, and refuses to sign a warrant, and some act of terror occurs as a result, what will happen to that judge? nothing. if the Schiavo case has taught us anything, it should show us the true nature of the judiciary in the US.
